The pilot program proposed by the agency would see culturally significant manga and anime content protected by automated image and text recognition systems, with less reliance placed on resource-intensive human intervention.

What’s funny is it might get a lot of spicy false positives too
This is exactly what I was thinking. I absolutely wanna see the shitstorm that appears if it hits youtube and starts mass flagging the site because of all the MVs and other anime content like the sped up slightly higher pitched videos where they show clips from anime, hoping not to get flagged probably.
Those old farts should realise the reason anime and manga is popular is because of piracy.
One would be genuinely surprised Japan didn’t use AI first for authoring and drawing more manga & anime…
