Finally got back into sailing the high seas and, first thing i did after getting plex set up was get parks and rec since ive missed it so bad after it left netflix. Its great so far but occasionally it loses track of what ive watched and picks up in the middle of like 9 episodes back?

Then again I was also having the same problem sometimes with hulu…could this possibly be something to do with my roku itself?

The only disadvantage I see is that you need to manually put the TV guide, while Plex has it automatically already. (and you will need this to record Live TV)

Also, Plex can be accessed from outside internet without opening ports on your home router (that’s much safer). While with Jellyfin, if you want to access from outside internet to your home, you will need to open ports (and I don’t recommend it). What I did is to rent a server on a datacenter with like 18T for my stuff, that’s not cheap but that server also has many more services, so it’s compensated. 😛

Find whatever fits better for you.

Keep in mind jellyfin doesn’t work with shuffle, the first episode will be random but then plays them all in order.

Does Plex offer NAT traversal now? It wasn’t a thing last year.

You mean this? https://support.plex.tv/articles/200289506-remote-access/ Step 2: For automatic configuration, make sure your router supports the “UPnP” or “NAT-PMP” feature

EDIT: This is what I mean: https://support.plex.tv/articles/216766168-accessing-a-server-through-relay/ There is no “NAT traversal” if I’m not wrong.

What makes UPnP more secure than opening ports?

Isn’t that the same? Who said that?

Oh interesting! I didn’t know they had any option besides the UPnP remote connection.

This seems more akin to something like Cloudflare tunnels.
