It’s like they are trying to irritate people into canceling their accounts.
Imo, this one might actually be worse than the account sharing and cause people to quit. As soon as you have people messing around with their subscription version, it’s all too easy to just say “nah, I actually don’t want this anymore”.

What’s frustrating for me is I actually like Netflix. It has most of the shows I like, I haven’t found another streaming service that I will regularly watch. I like their interface and recommendation system as well. I just like Netflix. I want to give them my money and I don’t understand why they’re making it hard for me to do so.
If they had plans that offered one screen and 4K resolution, I’d consider going back for sure. But as it stands, paying $24/month for one screen just so I can get the resolution that every other streaming service includes for all plans is ridiculous. Netflix is stuck in the 2010s. I can watch YouTube in 8K in some cases, and that’s free. I don’t understand why Netflix is being so difficult about it.
To be fair, it does look like they’re letting the old basic plans stay on, so some of this seems to be about preventing people from subscribing on and off for one month? It’s still a bonehead move amidst a series of bonehead moves.
Yeah but the old basic plans restrict video quality to HD. It used to go 720p > 1080p > 4K for quality. Idk if it’s still the same as I haven’t looked at the plans, but I assume you still only get HD unless you pick the highest tier.
