Make a backup, but yes. The new DynamicFPS mod from Chucksfeedandseed is a game changer, allows resolution to be scaled natively as opposed to using the Yuzu scaler. Way, way better image quality and fixes issues like the Sky Islands being weird.
My suggestion, save a backup of your current setup. Then update either your original, or the copy. Check out how things run, and make a choice based on your own assessment.

3602 was the last big update. most new updates are for android support. i use 3598 on MX Linux with a 4gb card and it works like a dream.
