Trouble continues for some of the largest pirate sites specializing in Asian entertainment. Coinciding with the shutdown of Dramacool, GogoAnime and Anitaku stopped uploading new content. This weekend, AnimeFenix added to the trouble with a ‘voluntary’ shutdown citing more copyright pressure. “Piracy will never go away as long as there are companies with more greed than heart,” the AnimeFenix team notes in its farewell message.

I understand that streaming is easier, but people really need to get back into downloading.
People don’t have all the money available to be buying lots of storage and internet plans to risk downloading. It’s a process that not everyone has the time for.
People need to understand that not everyone has the disposable budget to buy tons of SSDs/HDDs for storage, the internet speed to download episodes and the time for said downloads.
No one is telling anyone to hoard episodes. You can easily fit a whole series on your phone let alone a single episode. Download, watch and then delete.
It has not been a good year for anime streaming sites.
