Hi, does anyone know a webpage, which allows to check upon the equipment of specific car, based on the VIN number? There are a lot of pages, but can’t find a free one.

But the VIN is a glorified serial number. You can decode the year of production and the manufacturer but for specific equipment check you would need access to the servers of that specific Car brand, that would be restricted to few people in official dealers

The vin doesn’t encode anything other than the basic make/model info, possibly including engine size

Also year, paint code, manufacturing location can also be decoded depending on the manufacturer

OEM equipment is specific to each manufacturer. You are not likely going to find a single decoder that works for every vehicle. Look for one specific to your vehicle’s manufacturer, try multiple ones until you find the information you seek.

A quick “Ford vin decoder” OEM options or similar does it for me

Carinfo.kiev.ua has been good for me for some marques, but it’s not like I’ve tried a lot of them. They’re manufacturer specific.

NHTSA has one, not sure if it will work for you

Wow, it can even recognize if the VIN is correct. Example:

Thanks for sharing, gonna test it out!

Yep, it’s a great tool. Not sure how it works with non-northAmerican equipment though. I’m a dealer service tech by trade, I use this tool probably daily

Here is one that has been pretty good for me. You can also view your VIN specific parts diagrams.

You can make a free account with no verification. You do have to select a dealer for whatever make you are searching. Then enter your VIN and you can get the option codes/view the attribute list. I’ve used with GM and Ford so far with good results but it connects to over 20 OEM’s. Results may vary.
