I don’t know if the mods of this comm even have any control over the sub anymore after the admin intervention, but I think this would be the most reasonable outcome.
It’s currently listed as the fallback forum, which is a damn shame because the sub is a big source of users; it’s why I moved too.
People who do want a better alternative with 3rd party apps can only move if it’s properly listed.
Listing it even as a sister community would be better than what it is right now.
1. Posts must be related to the discussion of digital piracy
2. Don’t request invites, trade, sell, or self-promote
3. Don’t request or link to specific pirated titles, including DMs
4. Don’t submit low-quality posts, be entitled, or harass others

So it would just say “Lemmy forum”? I doubt most normies would know what that means and just keep using reddit.
I guess they could put
(federated reddit alternative)
next to the linkMost people coming to a piracy sub would know what forums are, and by now have probably heard of Lemmy already
Lemmy forum and a link.
Thinking like a good little git(hub) user, the term “Forked Community on Lemmy” came to mind all too easily.
Yep, good suggestion 👍.
It opening back up before the big wave of users on July 1st is also very unfortunate.
Subs should stay in protest at least until a week after Sync for Lemmy and some of the many apps in development release in a few weeks imo
Given this update I don’t think the mods have a real choice on that. The original top mods have been removed, the new ones opened it back up.
Seems to me that Reddit mods are too concerned with staying “in power” than actually building communities and sharing knowledge. Caving to reddits demands just to maintain their mod status is so sad to me
