Check out !animemidriff@lemmynsfw.com!
Yeah I really hope they show the total shared user counts for comms on all instances; you currently have to do that through Lemmyverse.net, which is not user friendly at all.
It’s already been opened as an issue on the github though, and I think this needs to be implemented asap
Doesn’t mean much; vlemmy is a pretty normal general instance.
It’s best to recommend vlemmy.net, lemm.ee, and reddthat.com to new users though imo to prevent strain on the bigger servers
Yeah Lemmy really needs a shared user count across all instances for proper discoverability.
Already opened as an issue on the GitHub, and needs to be added asap imo
wefwef.app, Thunder, Connect, and Liftoff are already amazing btw. Boost for Lemmy and Sync for Lemmy are in the works.
Jerboa actually gives off RiF vibes for me, though it’s definitely still its own thing.
On pc use this to make it look a bit more like old.reddit. I hope tweaks like this get combined into a single extension later like RES
Fyi the real member count is almost 20k; the sidebar only shows how many are subscribed to it from your instance.
It shows 360 from vlemmy.net for example.
Dev said he just came up with it randomly lol
He made a post on !wefwef@lemmy.world about a possible name change, and some people are suggesting Voyager> wefwef
It opening back up before the big wave of users on July 1st is also very unfortunate.
Subs should stay in protest at least until a week after Sync for Lemmy and some of the many apps in development release in a few weeks imo

The mod tools are basically moving here too, with Sync for Lemmy and Memmy (Apollo-like), so it shouldn’t be an issue by the time comms get actually big enough to worry about.
That’s one of the main reasons we’re moving here in the first place.
Community mods also don’t need to host an instance; they’ll just make them in an instance that’s tangentially related to their topic, as some already are (like mine), or a general instance.
Multiple issues have been opened on the github for grouping communities/instances. That should fix it when it’s applied.
Memmy is starting to look like it could be an Apollo for Lemmy soon.
There are issues opened on the GitHub for it already.
Mastodon already has it; it just needs to made a thing in Lemmy too.
We’re just getting started. Sync for Lemmy and Memmy’s (heavily inspired by Apollo) release in a few weeks will go a long way for accessibility, and will likely already offer better UX than reddit.
No doubt contributors in the GitHub will add similar UX features as those fantastic apps once they’re out.
Clearly not a Lemmynsfw.com enjoyer 😔
Wait for Sync for Lemmy and Memmy (Apollo inspired) to come out in a few weeks and this’ll already be a better experience than reddit on mobile
Exactly. I was active in the sub for a few days after the move, inviting them to Lemmy, but found it exhausting. Though it did help those confused it seems.
I’m happy here; things will only get better when Sync for Lemmy and Memmy fully release.
It might be better to refer to it by its full name (!piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com) so it doesn’t get confusing for new users, since alot of us are seeing this from other instances, some of which have their own /c/piracy.
