The customers of those two banks should express their gratitude to their governments!

I have already started hearing protectionistic proclaims about Chinese EVs in Europe. Sounds awkward when every single piece of technological hardware is made there and nobody has ever complained for decades. But when businessmen see their domain under threat they become aggressive.

Oh no I’ve been discovered! This is not a safe place any more…

Yes… especially for newborn project it’s quite difficult to find volunteers or people just wanting to help out, test, triage reports, etc.

The Old Testament is full of rules and commandments that, taken completely out of context and applied literally, would lead any modern society to collapse. In the west we thought we knew better than bronze age nomadic tribes of the Middle East, after the scientific and industrial revolutions, but in the end we keep going back to the Bible for directions. Fundamentalist christians are no exception. We should review the way we think about ourselves as “progressed” and civilized societies.

I was talking about behavior and word choice being wrong, never about individual people. This has escalated badly, I won’t be answering any more.

If this is the finest level of respect and politeness that our culture can produce, we deserve to be defeated and collapse. We’re on terminal stage.

Very tolerant… shouldn’t we “on the other side” be more democratic? I wish I could move over as you suggested, unfortunately the only option will be passing away because I’m stuck here. I can’t even get a passport because in my country public offices have stopped working.

You don’t seem to know the South of Europe. Or maybe PIGS should not be even labelled Europe because it looks like a different part of the world, nothing of what you mentioned applies. Collective agreements, minimum wages, measurements to stop exploitative job contracts… what is this Soviet Russia?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the EU stands to gain money from this conflict

I think we, as Europeans, missed a chance to help those in need and to stand for the weakest and most defenseless. And I would not be surprised to witness how neighbouring foreign cultures hate us.

Minimum wage does not exist in all EU countries and, even where it exists, don’t take it for granted. Things change faster than you’d expect.

You are assuming that inflation will stop, but after the new war oil and gas prices (so energy prices, and therefore the price of any retail good) are increasing dramatically. Another cycle of the depressive spiral is coming for Europe… the only positive aspect I can think of is that this part of the world is responsible for the misery and poverty of other areas of the world (say Africa) so in the end this will be a sort of very much due nemesis. But from here to saying that “everything is going to be alright” sounds like gaslighting.

Thank you! The original source of truth! 💎 As IT people, this is part of our culture and should be transmitted. 🤣

Not propaganda media, I live in Europe and I see the prices, the bills and the rental fees. And my salary. Wish me good luck.

Because in Europe everything is fine, isn’t it? With the new war inflation is skyrocketing and a new interest raise is around the corner. Thank you EU.

Not to upset anybody, but after I installed the JetBrains toolbox some months ago, I started having an idea about where their business model is going to. We should be ready to subscribe and pay for the IDEs we use. And considering the amazing work they are doing to maintain the whole ecosystem, it’s worth it. But then I expect customer care for when Gradle builds are broken 🤣

Tell me you are employed by an Italian IT company without telling me you are employed by an Italian IT company. While reading “I will learn on the field” it reminded me of my previous employer who was very fond of this “learning on the job” approach. To the clients’ detriment who had their expensive software developed by inexperienced programmers.

I have an answer to this question, as well as to why all the fascists (except one) weren’t prosecuted after the war but left alone so that they are now ruling the country again. The reason is: they needed Italy to be a “liberal” western democracy, while giving too much power to the socialists/communists in the 50s/60s/70s would have made it too close to Soviet neighbours, endangering the equilibrium of the area.

Afterthought on France riots
What we are witnessing in France these days makes me wonder whether an entire political and social model is on a crisis and is rapidly approaching its end. A western "advanced" and progressist country, always pointed at as an example of successful society, is at the verge of collapse due to internal instability and riots (and has been for the last months/years in a similar situation). Worker class rights, maternity leaves and reduces working hours, minimum wages, national healthcare and education, tolerance, minority inclusion, democracy itself in its principles of fair and equal representation seem to be at risk and simply "not sustainable any more". Is anyone having the same feelings?
