Publicly it is their religion, in private business deals they make sure the rules are set for themselves.

It is sad there are people like you who think everything is a transaction. Posting a link is a recommendation, it is no way stealing.

So Lemmy instance admins should be paying for all the links on their sites too?

They got my click by burying the lede. That is everyone’s strategy now.

I guess the significant thing is that the judge ruled this way based on current laws and past legal precedent which should hopefully be consistent in future cases.

Of course the US doesn’t like it. Their country is getting all the benefit of US corporations basically running the internet without contributing to the societies they are leaching money from.

I would say people are more likely to drive to a restaurant or bar than a park so drinking alcohol in parks may lower drinking and driving. Public intoxication is still illegal.

Somebody made a comment on an old post which created a chain reaction of posts. Here we go again!

If people are actually interested in decentralised technology to escape abusive corporations then your insults to cryptocurrency users and assumed bad intentions of cryptocurrency users are not very convincing arguments.

Lol, somebody could write an opinion piece like this on decentralised social media and be just as wrong as you. Crypto is happily humming along and for some reason you are bitter that people like to use it.

I find it odd people who want their social media decentralised but are disgusted when money is decentralised.

It is humming along nicely for those that use it. There could be another speculative pump filled with scams, that would be no surprise.

More parents realising they can push teachers to give their students higher marks. Even in elementary school I see parents pushing for higher marks and teachers give in because they don’t want to argue and make their job harder.

Thanks for all this info. I’m just planning out what I will use. This gives me a lot to dig into!

What is the ZigBee controller? Is the Hue Bridge one? Does the Hue bridge not go on the internet?

So then be clear and say you are angry at them for price gauging and not just get angry at them for everything they do for their business.

I agree they are price gauging. That has nothing to do with my argument.

I think many economists point to the fact that western countries need younger workers to help pay for the growing percentage of the population that will be retired and needing more government services. So population increase at the rate we have may be needed even with some of the negatives it brings.

Crazy to think we are close to one of the big European countries with Spain having 47.42 million.

If they are checking receipts because an increase in theft I am ok with it. Any financial loss to my local store will have to be collected in prices of their goods to keep the business open. I wish they didn’t have to.

I assumed cell phones would be banned in classrooms. When I was in school any sight of a walkman would get it taken away!
