The Public Order Emergency Commission, was a public inquiry created by the Liberal government and Trudeau appointed a Justice to lead the commission. This commission found that the invocation of the emergency act was justified.
However, later there was a federal court that found that it was unjustified.
What’s the right answer? I don’t know, but I would think that the commission took a much more thorough look. We probably won’t have a single answer unless it goes to the Supreme Court.
I agree with the sentiment, but in his linked project he says this:
Somewhat surprisingly, Trifecta does not touch the images it serves. This is a bit sad since it might be useful for the software to create thumbnails for example. The security record of most image libraries however is sufficiently depressing that it is not worth the cost to do any kind of conversion.
Apparently leaking EXIF data to the internet is not a concern of his.
And this probably didn’t help.
I really wish we could just do away with credit cards (for the most part) when shopping in person (vs online). Rewards points are basically just a scam to make you pay with credit cards so that you’re not “losing out”, since you’re subsidizing them either way through merchant fees.
Something that might also help is charging merchant fees only on transactions that are paid via credit cards - Telus recently won a lawsuit to be able to do this.
I think a lot of private health care-related companies often revolve around a single function (or just a few). I mean, they can’t really do the whole thing because it’s public.
Pretty sure this is just making it easier to eventually carve out. Like removing the wish bone from your Thanksgiving turkey before roasting it.
But do you condemn Hamas?
