It’s amazing people are still wasting time and resources on this trash while the planet is literally being destroyed.

How long until they call it an “AI” miner? That’s when the big bucks come in.

Which is worse: bad citation or anecdotes with no citation?

AFAIK the actual research is somewhat unclear.

But my (former teacher) problems with “education” are a wider topic for another day.

Let’s be real. They’re not shielding “foreign” spyware from prosecution. They’re shielding zionist spyware from prosecution. B/c zionism is a dominant ideology of most politicians (regardless of their “religion”).

There’s literally hundreds, maybe thousands of corporations directly supporting the genocide in palestine. I won’t hold my breath for their prosecution.

“No food grown that we do not own.”

Is lemmy overrun by monsanto shills like reddit yet? Anybody gonna come in here preaching the gospel of “GMOs” and extremely privatized food?

Sure, that’s what the state wants us to think. Don’t worry about the bullshit charges! He’s a bad person! jfc.

what about that alleged money laundering and racketeering, once again?

TBH if the state was violently attacking me for sharing files, I might try to hide the money too.

Ask the people attacking this guy while fully supporting genocide.

Meanwhile genocidal terrrorists are invited to speak at congress.

Should we subsidize domestic vendors to tilt the scale?

I think maybe the state shouldn’t spy on people.

It’s funny how USAians think of themselves as the most “freedom”. Not even close.

But it’s sad how everywhere else has to fear imperialism, colonialism, etc.

A primary purpose of the state is the violent control of people and things.

An organization of states won’t be any different.

I’m pretty sure the that actually happening “singularity” is the climate crisis. It won’t be stopped because it’s profitable for the capitalists who violently control the planet. So we’ll probably never see useful quantum computers, much less implantable ones.

I’m pro-crypto enough that I tried Brave but anti-crypto enough that I had to stop.

The popup ads were melting my brain and the payment wasn’t worth it.

Having to rely on the United States for software including, Windows and Photoshop, is painful enough.

Thanks to linux and gimp, I’m more powerful and technologically advanced than one of the largest empires in history.

Palantir supports genocide in palestine and other fascist programs around the globe. No surprise it’s teaming up with empire. Always been the case.

This whole article is dishonest nonsense. So many lols.

Apparently unwilling to put their full faith in a trustless technology,

Just like people are unwilling to put their money under their mattress.

Moreover, it has become clear that risks could spill over from decentralized finance to traditional finance,

Maybe “traditional finance” is an unstable scam too. But these people would never hint in that direction.

Its volatile value, which is evident in its wild price swings in the last few days,

How does Bitcoin look over the long term though? If going from $0 to $60,000 is volatile, then I’ll take it. It’s doubled since the past year. These articles that extrapolate from a “few days” are just opportunistic sleaze.

Don’t get me wrong. Bitcoin is a bad “investment” versus other cryptos. But these articles are dishonest trash.

Don’t be fooled by the 20000th round of “crypto is dead” articles.

I agree that BTC is trash but it’s still up 100% from last year.

The people who write these articles have no clue.

edit: The Brookings Institute lmao. Right-wing boomer nonsense.

Yes, crypto people keep getting fooled by record breaking prices. So sad.

They reached out to several major publishers and partnered with an anti-piracy outfit, to test whether takedown efforts have a measurable effect on legitimate book sales… While the researchers found a small positive effect in the takedown category, it wasn’t pronounced enough to be statistically significant. Only after the researchers tried a Bayesian analysis, adding data from previous research, did they find an uptick in book sales.

Sounds like fair and unbiased science. \s

Yeah OP seems to imply there’s some kind of cyptographic security with NFTs. Nope! It’s literally just a URL on the blockchain pointing to a regular image on a regular server.

Smart move for any liberated, international organization. Esp as inflation continues to impoverish people. Move into the future.

It’s completely normal. Capitalism is a grift profiting from unsustainable, decaying infrastructure and a destroyed planet. The state is just there for violent control. It can’t even provide drinkable water. But I’m sure that sanctioning these two dudes will help. lmao.

It’s so much more important for the system to violently control scientific research than any tv shows, movies, etc.

I use myinsta. It’s great for removing ads, etc. But there are some minor glitches (eg. repeatedly asking for contacts/location permissions) and it seems to take up more storage.
