I used irc back in the day, from 98 to 2007/8. It was great and I made several friends that I still talk to today. There’s were i started pirating stuff, mostly books for university.
Sadly, the server we were at closed, and the other some of us migrated to closed a few years later 😢 I find it quite difficult to chat in English, so I rarely log into irc nowadays.
