Rising number of wildfires trigger poor air quality warnings in Ontario, Quebec

Smoky, dangerous air is settling over parts of western Quebec and eastern Ontario this morning and the number of forest fires burning across Canada is creeping higher once again.

From North Bay through Ottawa-Gatineau to Montreal the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) is again over the top of its range at 10+.

Athletic events and St. Jean Baptise events are being canceled.

Wow, I didn’t think the AQHI reported numbers above 10+.

We’d been hoping for a rainy Saturday in the Ottawa Valley too.

It does on a section under the graph. It’s not 10+ right now but this is where it reports the actual index.

Yeah the website doesn’t show it but the PurpleAir map does if you go there… you can also switch to the US EPA 2.5 scale and others as well.
