I question this article a little. The writing is over the top with some of the descriptions, mistakes like D.M/H.M, the level of personally identifiable info dispute trying to appear they are protecting folk’s identities… I’m not saying it is wrong or isn’t true, but it doesn’t read like reputable journalism. I’d like to see it show up in at least a few other publications aside from this substack before I’m willing to accept it as is.

Also, regardless of what is happening, exfiltrating personal banking info and posting pictures of it online is gonna get some folks in deep trouble…

I agree with your sensible degree of caution, given the context. It’s good media literacy.
