In three recent appearances at evangelical Christian churches, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre received blessings and made pitches for votes.

Even Stephen Harper — a member of an evangelical church himself — avoided public association with evangelical Christians due to political considerations.

Why even risk it? What other way are evangelicals going to vote?.. I guess “peoples party”?

There’s the Christian Heritage Party. I’ve known several people who have voted for them at one time or another.

IIRC, “heritage” is in there because they can’t just openly be the Christian party, by law. They’re not fooling anybody, but it’s enough to pass Elections Canada muster.
