I’m running internet to an out building 550’ from the main house. I’m going to trench an run conduit with pull strings and fiber. Do I just get regular multi it mode with sfp+ connectors on either end? Will my normal 10g switches be fine? Anything else I need to think about?

Use single mode fiber. Something armored would be best. Like https://www.fs.com/products/70220.html or https://www.fs.com/products/155226.html

Then I’d use bidi SFP modules on each side. BiDi uses a single fiber strand for both transmit and receive. This will give you a spare fiber to use later for a second connection or if one of the strands were to break you could use the other one. You need one of each of these modules

Use something like https://www.fs.com/products/178413.html on each end to protect the connections. You’ll need a panel to go inside also. https://www.fs.com/products/35488.html

Grab a few of these in whatever lengths you need to go from the wall box to the sfp module in the switch. https://www.fs.com/products/40446.html

Fail to see benefits of going BD. Just run some spare cores will be cheaper and more straightforward.
