I own a Garmin Dash Cam, and one of the features is red light and speed cameras alerts, however this feature is hidden behind a subscription, the camera doesn’t require internet connection all the time, so theoretically the files could be reverse engineered. I tried to do a quick google search but got nothing, does anybody know if this feature has been cracked?

I don’t think it is that easy. I’d say you might be able to use it for 1 month then. The key probably has a validity.

Fair enough, but the clock on any device not connected to the internet can’t be trusted ;)

That means your footage would have invalid date/time stamps, making it useless when you need it for its intended purpose.

GPS is a pretty accurate time source.

Yep, it also has GPS so I don’t think faking the date/time of the device will have an effect.
