I’m a big fan of stremio, just wondering if there’s been development of an open source desktop app. I’d like to avoid the ads and the login component. https://blog.stremio.com/announcing-stremio-core-embracing-open-source-and-rust/

You got the wrong Stremio, my dude! No adds in my app.
Err, are you sure you didn’t find some dodgy non-official version of Stremio with ads embedded in the client?
Stremio is already open source. You can find the desktop app here: https://github.com/Stremio/stremio-shell
Also Stremio has ads? News to me.
Stremio comes with default addons. Might want to disable the ones that you don’t want.
Is streamio jellyfin alternative?
You do not host your own media in Stremio; it is an addons-based streaming platform.
Aha thx
Ads?! On Stremio? Where did you find that?
There’s a tiny ad banner that appears at the top of the discover page on Stremio, but it can easily be disabled by blocking Stremio’s ad domain in the hosts file.
Uh, now that you mention it I think I’ve seen it… but honestly I’d feel bad to block the little money they can get out of it…
