So, I’ve tried to get into torrentgalaxy to get some stuff and on the top of the website there’s this message:
|NEWSFLASH| Adblock is actively breaking site features again, disable when experiencing any issues.
Trying to find a torrent (Firefox, uBlock origin just updated) leads to results without names and figuring out how to get into the actual page of a given torrent leads to the page without the download torrent/get magnet link links.
I’ve tested with a browser without adblock and lo an behold, the issues are gone, but the site is obviously unusable.
Am I the only one experiencing this? There’s no honor among pirates? Any other alternative?
The best alternative is one that you can self-host and/or isn’t centralized.
My favorite option right now is torrents-csv.ml, since it’s “a collaborative repository of torrents, consisting of a searchable torrents.csv file.”
Basically, the author of the project scrapes the torrent DHT network and compiles a csv of all the torrent magnet links into a CSV file that’s searchable on this site. You can selfhost your own private instance of the site by following the instructions on the repository here: https://git.torrents-csv.ml/heretic/torrents-csv-server
I saw it a bit of time ago… how safe it is? The access is not centralized, but the data it gets in it is, right? Or it is a service in the same webserver the one that does the scraping?
Will look into it when I got time… always is docker, jeez…

Neither their github nor their main site makes any mention of DHT, also don’t see any DHT scraper in the git page https://git.torrents-csv.ml/heretic but maybe I’m not looking in the right place?

A quick 2 second google of literally this exact issue and website shows to force update ublock origin lists btw.
Click purge all caches, then click update now. That usually fixes issues like these in websites. Not sure why.

I don’t think Google censored it at all considering I found the answer in 5 seconds lolol.
They have really put me off recently often even with adblocker ads show up on the page.
Read my other comment. Clear ublock origin cache and re update lists.
