Nzb360 is the answer you are looking for. You can find it on mobilism.

I find the same, although I haven’t updated it for years - perhaps the newer versions aren’t as bad?

I looked at the version running on my seedbox and it does appear to be older, v3.10. They are up to 4.10 on Github, so, I dunno, maybe the newer versions are optimized for mobile.

pretty sure I’ve read that 4.x is mobile friendly/friendlier than 3.10.

Nzb360 is my preference on mobile, I’m on Android though. Also integrates well with Sonarr/Radarr/Jackett!

That’s from June 2020, so it’s not older than phones being widely used. It shouldn’t be too hard to stick some media queries in and get it functional on smaller screens, so hopefully someone’s done that work since.

I am afraid on iOS there are no easy work around, because you are not allowed to install app out of the App Store (I heard iOS 17 will have this feature).

However, you can use AltStore, is a program (Mac and Windows, no Linux if I am not mistaken) that allow you to side load 3 apps on you iPhone/iPad, but you will need to resign them every week to keep them working.

Having said that, as an iPadOS user, I can say that iTorrent is probably the best client to download torrents in your apple devices.

You can have a look at GitHub for more information. Sadly, the last update was on Sept 2020, but it stills work fine for me on my iPad Mini 5.

Good luck 😊

EDIT: I am sorry, do you want something to manage your torrents from your iPhone? If so, sorry, I completely missread your request.

I think you can find an app you can install with AltStore.

Use transdroid or transdrone. Make sure you set up http RPC on the server and enter your RPC path when selecting “rtorrent” while adding a custom server.

See this tutorial: https://bytesized-hosting.com/pages/transdroid

The SCGI path will be /rutorrent/plugins/httprpc/action.php

You may need a plugin or config change depending on what installer/package you used on your system.

rutorrent doesn’t seem very intuitive, which is why I use transmission-daemon on my seedbox. In my experience transmission tends to just work.

How is Transmission’s mobile web interface? I’m on iOS so apps are a no go. If I’m able to update labels and file locations via my phone, it might convince me to switch.

Labels and file locations can’t be changed on the native transmission webui from what I could tell… RPC supports it, but no luck on the webui… But I did come across this! https://flood.js.org

Flood is an alternative webui compatible with rtorrent. It says it’s “touch ready”. I have not tried it, but it might be exactly what you’re after.

I’ve used flood for transmission for years now and it works reasonably good on mobile. I know for sure that you can upload .torrent files to it anyways, although the label system has been weird in the past so I’m not sure about that
