As a former military member, I strongly believe a civilian needing more than a bolt-action rifle is a problem best solved in therapy.
Jan 6 showed that even the most gun-clutchy of Americans were powerless to stop the near overthrow of their government, the very case for which they had the amendment to provide for a militia; although I’ll concede the point that the gun-clutchers were on the wrong side of history there.
For the rest of us, we’re most at risk of harming ourselves or our neighbors than we are doing anything good with a rapid fire weapon and/or a pistol. That would be a math problem except it’s a history problem.
