It really was so sad when they cancelled it. It also sucked when Konami removed it from the Playstation store. Every few months I’ll be sitting around doing something unrelated when my brain is like “member P.T.?” ah… At least we got to experience this playable teaser before it was all canned.

We were robbed of a potential masterpiece of horror media.

I eat horror for breakfast, it’s one of my favourite genres. Games, movies, novels, comics, you name it. Playing P.T. for the first time was the most unsettling, paranoid, anxiety inducing experience I have ever had in the genre. And the almost hysterical community at the time trying to piece together this demented puzzle was an extra layer of mystery and madness.

Ultimately we don’t know what the finished product would have been like, but I have a hard time imagining anything else but a master class in horror.

Kojimas new horror game OD will likely be good, I’m sure. But you can only do a game like P.T. once, and that boat has sailed.

I’ve been replaying the Mass Effect series for the first time in a long while. They are still great games, but I think on replays, 2 and 3 suffer a little for removing so many of the RPG elements from the first game. The RPG mechanics in the first game weren’t perfect, but I think improving them instead of removing them would have gone a long way.

I guess what I’m worried about from what I’ve seen, is that this game will mechanically be more similar to Mass Effect 2 and 3. Limited inventory, no meaningful armor stats, unable to change party member equipment, that sort of thing. That doesn’t mean it will be a bad game, ME2 and 3 are still great games, but they are not RPGs, more third person action game with lite RPG elements.

Maybe I’m wrong and someone can correct me (I’d love to be wrong.), but from what I’ve seen it seems like this is the direction the game is headed.

Wow I love this story, I used to watch that show all the time! I can still hear the theme song as if I just watched it yesterday. That was super cool of them to send you a copy. I hope you still have it!

The second game feels like where they found their footing before leaning into wario with the third game, but I still enjoyed the first because of how unique it felt at the time.

It’s time Nintendo brings back the scary flying mask enemies. Love SMB2!

Hahaha that brings back memories. I definitely remember trying all sorts of jumps that got me killed just to see if there were more secrets like that.

Yes! I loved Warioland as well, what wonderful strange little games lol. I never got a chance to play Warioland Shake it, but I’ve played all the rest!

I agree I always want more Wario games, we hardly get any! And I can’t believe how little they’ve done with Waluigi. I thought for sure he would get a Smash invite :(

I don’t remember much about Wario Land on the gamecube… but if captain toad can have his own adventure game on the switch that’s actually pretty good, than so can Wario!

Does anyone remember the Super Mario Land series for Gameboy? This series was so strange, but I still loved playing them on car rides.

The games felt surreal, it seemed so novel playing a mario game where you pilot a submarine and shoot at enemies, or when giant easter island heads are enemies in the game.

It’s kind of funny how Mario has evolved over the years, it doesn’t sound so out of place anymore. I’m pretty sure there are Moai statue enemies in Mario Odyssey funny enough.

Thank you, I appreciate comments like this so much. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Unfortunately it seems obvious that PP and his party will win with a majority government. And as an autistic LGBTQ person who already experiences real hate from people in my small town, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared.

Serious question here, when does this become an act of war?

This is all hypothetical so bear with me; If the USA flew satellites in international space above Russia, and those satellites dropped thousand and thousands of propaganda pamphlets that would fall down on Russian cities, and did this every day for years, would it not be seen as an act of war?

So why is it okay when it’s done internationally online instead of international space?

Goodluck! I hope you can get it working without too much trouble 🙂

I wish I could offer some advice, I’m on windows 11. I downloaded the game files from Blizzards website (had to google it, its kind of buried), and used my CD keys from my game cases. Honestly I was surprised I didn’t have to do much tinkering to make it work. I think all I did was make sure it launches with compatibility mode enabled in the properties of the .exe

I was going to try Plugy earlier this week but I just discovered Project Diablo 2 which comes with some of the QoL features from Plugy and more. It’s been phenomenal! Absolutely check it out if you haven’t.

I just finished playing the original FF7 for the first time in like two decades. I always secretly dreaded trying to play it again, worried that it wouldn’t have aged that well as a game, or that my nostalgia was propping it up as a masterpiece when perhaps it wasn’t.

It sucked me in and I ended up doing a 100% completion playthrough. The experience has shifted my thinking and now I’m more willing to replay older games. Just last week I found my old CD Keys and started up Diablo 2, the original, not the remaster. Now I’ve been sucked into that.

I personally am finding that mechanically, these older games have systems with lots of depth and creativity. They give you so many options and choices, and they rarely explain all of it so your kind of left to just… experience it. I am sure this is not true for every retro game ( and ditto for some new games ) but it is something I have been feeling when playing older games.

I love f-zero and starfox. I had no idea Imamura also did the art for my favourite zelda game, majoras mask!

That said I wish we’d get a new f-zero game sometime…
