It works, it’s just not working as I hoped. If I get 0.5 I’m lucky on the most popular episodes.

Guessing it’s peering vs seedboxes crushing me as mentioned above.

Appreciate the feedback mate

You might be right and I’m just underestimating how many people have seedboxes in major data centers…

If so, at least my setup is OK but it makes Autobrr for home users a bit less worthwile.

Experience with Autobrr?
I’m strugling a bit making it work as intended. I set it up to push straight to Sonarr/Radarr and it works, but my ratio on everything is still bad. I’m guessing something is taking time, making me lose out on the initial swarm. My connection is wired Gbit. It’s not really a problem as I seed forever and have a great ratio, but I still want it to function or at least understand why it doesn’t. Appreciate any advice!

When I migrated the Jellyfin server to a NUC instead of the NAS. Now I can get whatever quality I like and just transcode on the fly when necessary. Also picked up some surveillance cameras that I expect will require some storage space.

14 TB soon full. Considering getting two more drives

You’ll be fine mate.

I re-hoisted the flag after a decade and two minions myself this year. The old ways still work fine, but there’s also a ton of new things to make life easier.

Check out the .arr suite, burn uTorrent and get Qbittorrent and try out Jellyfin.

Feel free to ask me directly if you need some pointers.

Saw someone say it was due to Cloudflare.

I’m sure (hope) they will be back soon

Cheers mate!

Have heard about them and must admit I’m a bit skeptical, but I’ll do another round of reading up on them.

MAM looks good as the missus reads a lot on her tablet. Is it mostly English or other languages too?
Might have to set up Readarr as well now…

This is incredible mate!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write it all out.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the next few months and try to get in. LST sounds the most fitting tbh. Relaxed and easy as long as you make a tiny bit of effort.

Thanks again for great advice!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

I’ll subscribe and hope for some good ones to open up.

Any trackers you’d recommend in particular?

Lemmy equivalent to Trackersignups?
Does anyone know if it exists and is active? Looking to join alternative quality trackers and I’m trying to avoid Reddit. Not asking for invites, just help being there once it opens up. Preferably with some sort of freeleech rules to get going as I hate the initial hustle, downloading random stuff to build a buffer. My NAS is running 24/7 so seeding is not an issue anyways. Would also like to hear your experiences and recomendations on trackers. Currently active on TL and very happy with them. Cheers!

Yeah it was awesome. I didn’t download a thing for years because the service was good and price was fair.

This year I finally gave in. Paying for 6 different streaming services and still not finding the movie we wanted to watch made me get a NAS and cancel (almost) all subscriptions. We kept Spotify and Netflix.

They can all get bent, literally.

Just make a dummy account for only that if you don’t want to mix yours into YT

Just took over a house last year with smart detectors connected to a homebase, all Li-Ion. Can see the battery percentage in the app. No more December 1st checks for a long time!

We use these in our products at work and I’ve never heard about them failing before the equipment is replaced anyways. They are soldered.

I won’t quote life expectancy (MTBF) but we have many customers with 15-20 year old PLC’s with the original capacitor.

I try to only grab the stuff someone in the house wants to watch.

If my drives ever fill up, I’ll either expand or delete things I know we’ll never watch again.

Poor wording on my part.

It still functions, but I don’t get push notification when it detects motion or someone rings the bell while I’m out. I will see the recording once I’m on my local network again.

Not exactly what you asked for, but I went with Eufy with local storage. There is a home base so everything is stored here and not in the cloud. Costs a bit more but gives me peace of mind.

Downside is that it won’t work if my internet or power is out, but that happens once a year, max.

For door I’d go with Yale with the hub to lock and unlock remotely.
Don’t know of a combined solution, sadly.

It’s a fair response. Some uf us aren’t flush with time.

I’d survive SSH for installing Portainer and then you can run most of it from its GUI. If you use Docker Compose it will be super easy to make changes to your setup as well. Just change the file and redeploy your badboys.

I’m a recent dad absolutely strapped for time, but I still managed to set up a headless Debian server with close to zero Linux knowledge. There are so many amazing guides out there, especially on GitHub.

Good luck whatever you go for.

I’m rewatching some old stuff on there as we speak.

Burn Notice, White Collar, Lie to Me. All great shows. Loki was good too.

Have cancelled it to run my own media server from now on though.

My NAS literally arrived today.
I’m done.

Been paying for years but it’s becomming equally predatory as linear TV so I’m out.
