DRM punishes paying customers. DRM free is the best choice for anyone who enjoys games, and supporting the devs is the best way to get more games you enjoy.

DRM free isn’t pro-piracy it is pro-consumer.

I couldn’t give a shit what pirates are doing. I pay for my games and I don’t want DRM ruining my experience.

I use PIA as well but I have never seen good upload speeds through them, which is a shame.

This is bound to be an unpopular opinion here but I hate vim.

Shortcuts in vim make no sense whatsoever. They’re not the fastest possible shortcuts nor are they intuitive.

Sure it’s got useful features if you let the awful design brow beat you into memorising an absurd number of shortcuts that lack any form of logic.

You could have a cheat sheet on another monitor but at that point why not have an editor that has a gui.

Facebook is a corporation. Corporations operate for profit.

If negotiating would lead to continued profit they will negotiate.

I didn’t realise this was c/explainlikeimfive but here we are.

The proposed legislation in Canada was directly inspired by what happened in Australia.

What “dynamics“ are different with regards to paying for news on their platform in Canada compared to Australia?

It’s literally in the linked article

Another situation came to a head in Australia two years ago, with Facebook blocking news content after being ordered to shell out cash. The standoff ended quickly with the major social media platforms agreeing a deal with the Australian government to create the News Media Bargaining Code, which sees news providers paid for their online content.

Facebook made it seem like everyone would lose out to give themselves a better bargaining position and now they pay for news content in Australia.

They will simply do this everywhere and force terms they find acceptable, or block news in countries unwilling to negotiate.
