To my point- that’s all I’ve ever heard about a Biden presidency.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely in “vote blue no matter who” mode. That said, if I can vote for someone that I actually like and that I feel has a better chance of winning, then all the better.

If there is a rule written down somewhere, then follow those rules if they want.

The DNC is a private organization, they can do whatever they want for whatever reason they want.

It probably wouldn’t make everyone happy if they skipped steps in their normal procedures, but I say “When has the DNC ever cared about making everyone happy?” It’s a big tent with a foundation of begrudging compromise. Some people will be upset, but they have months to get over it.

Yeah! Here, no one gets paid when someone else wants to profit off of all the free user generated content. Wait, what was our goal again?

Community isolation is still a big problem. Federated services like lemmy will never reach critical mass until owners start limited communities to force more user interaction, and cross posting becomes more streamlined. My favorite proposal as a solution is to allow mods of a community to subscribe to another community, and allows it to synchronize posts and comments.

Vivaldi has been my browser of choice for years as well. Fantastic product in my experience. I’ve sadly forced myself to start using firefox and librewolf in an attempt support alternatives to chromium based browsers. Firefox and co. are fine, but I’m still reaching for features and options from vivaldi that just don’t exist in firefox without a maze of incompatible and poorly maintained plugins.

I wanted to be an animator, specifically for video games. I made all this cool art and animations in flash, but I had no way to show it off in a game setting. So I learned Action Script 2 to make flash games with so that I could show off my animations. Turns out, I suck at art and animation. Oh well! I ended up liking the coding part more anyway.

True, but if there is a large project with many different collaborators, they’d need a more verbose system than a CSV file anyway. (And likely a more senior developer who knows how to handle situations like this.) My point is that excel files, and CSVs in particular, are easy to parse, easy to check for completeness, and easy to distribute to less technical people. Basically, while not optimal, they will just work.

A trick the indie game development community has used for years is just a simple excel file. CSVs are the easiest to work with if you are unfamiliar. First column is the ID of the text that you can reference in code, and each column is a translation of that text. Get the initial translation in place, typically English, then email the excel file to anyone who ask to create as fan translation. Also, unless you are translating the Illiad, the extra memory use is negligible.

These things have been the source of so much frustration for me over the years. I think you are the only person I’ve ever seen IRL or online who didn’t immediately regret the purchase after about 3-6 months.

Request for Couch Co-Op Games on Switch
I'm looking for something new to play with my 7yo son. Mario games are a great amount of fun, but I'm feeling pretty burnt out and am looking to expand things a little bit. We are looking for cooperative games like Pikmin 3, Cuphead, and Hyrule Warriors rather than competitive-only games like Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart. We appreciate whatever help you all can offer, so thanks in advance!
