These nice people are trying to shame me for my presumably mental issues, this is ridiculous 👏

Not annoyed, but many other people understood what I meant, and your suspicion was not correct, although I really used name Wikipedia explicitly (also, the image is PNG, it has word Wikipedia, but Lemmy decided to not show it, but when I was attaching it, it was showing)

Oh, oh, oh, this is actually what I wanted, and the other comment that says to download Wikipedia in my language

I didn’t know it’s so easy to import Wikipedia db into a third party knowledge database service

I have a the logo of the Wikipedia right in the post, and I explicitly say Wikipedia, not wiki, not a knowledge database 🫣

If you know how to set it up, RPI can be reliable enough

Even, IMAP is TCP already, any coming mail should be cached by the router until delivered, and your router usually doesn’t loose connection as often as the connected devices

I didn’t get it 😅

I see a big problem in every approach, probably because I don’t understand something

When i’m using just bitwarden, all my passwords for every service are different, but the ui is opened for anyone to see

When I use authelia without oidc I add complexity of using the services, and probably two passwords to type manually, or a locked down system(which is cool)

And if I use authelia with oidc, it means I have only one password for all of the services (manual, or in bitwarden (which has its own manual password))

There’s actually a point of doing that, it’s called lock down, but how to explain users how to do this 😆

For bitwarden functionality there are bypass rules on just a nginx location, or network somebody is reaching through

In general the situation reminds me using selfhosted email as a contact email for that hosting 😁 but I think in this case it’s less risk because I control the data

Edit: and I’m not really looking for user management, I just want to know how to use authelia efficiently

🤝

Also, it’s common practice to do rules, so ask 2fa on myserver.host, but don’t ask anything on myserver.host/api

There’s no registration in authelia I believe 🥲

And my problem is, like, should authelia password be manually typed, if not, where do the people store the password if they don’t have bitwarden yet

where should be the main password, and what services do I bypass, and etc

And the most important, how do I explain people how to use it, do I create them authelia credentials and send, or how?

I mean, if it’s that hard, I don’t know how to help you

You need to use authelia’s oidc, and your nextcloud app will be able to store this session for everything it needs

Hi, recently I started using authelia, and can't understand how I need to use it, and how do I share it with others Before I had bitwarden, kept all my passwords there, and used the passwords to login to every service. Also in every service I had 2FA and/or FIDO. But now I have authelia, and I'm trying to understand where should be the main password, and what services do I bypass, and etc And the most important, how do I explain people how to use it, do I create them authelia credentials and send, or how? Thank you

Yes, all, no matter what data is, it’s not hard and doesn’t have any consequences, but protects from many inconvenient accidents

Why not to make it work outside of the US? 🥲

Also, is there world wide accepted Celsius instead of ye olde Fahrenheit?

Sorry, what is CN2?

If it’s any solution CCP provides, I wouldn’t trust it anyway

The great firewall situation was always interesting, because if you would use a roaming Sim, then you will be able to access anything

This is the obvious solution, I don’t understand people that are hesitating to use DND

Is side loading possible outside of EU?

Sorry, I’m not really following iOS myself, what options of side loading are possible these days?

Ad-less Spotify on iOS
Hey-ho! My girlfriend has an iPhone, and she is using Spotify free thingy I'm using Jellyfin and very very happy (except my favorite client is unmaintained) I suggested her that I can download all the music she might ever need, she said cool. But also, in case if she needs to find something rare or listen just one time, etc, what options can I setup for her(with no ads, and other bs) P.S. is there YouTube with no ads?

Interesting world we live in

Proprietary software users: Ah, my apple music is fucked up, Spotify charged me twice, Netflix blocked me when I was traveling, I paid for this app on iOS $10 and it’s barely working

Other users: I press a button and my jellyseer asks *arr to download all episodes of a show I want to watch, when i start watching my hass dims the lights, and I’m private, secure, and at the same time the show is being shared to a lot of other people for free

This is the new reality of Russia indeed

But Russians started pirating way before the shit hit the fan, even before Chinese Spy Mr Putin

Also, (post)soviet mentality, having 100 hammers and files per adult and kid created this mindset where a lot of people get technical about some things(make stuff, fix stuff), at least to widely adopt torrenting. (Also, another thing to mention, when the torrents first were getting on the rise, most of the ISPs were hosting their own trackers, and many city and towns had their local city trackers)

I believe it can do all(if you know how), pixels just are widely spread and supported

Check Robotnix, this is a Nixos module for declarative building of Android You can specify stuff to be installed, maybe you can automate some other stuff you do

In my experience Vultr is not really selfhosting friendly, I had some credit there, but about to move

I thought “unnecessary and overkill” is our actual name, and selfhosting is just a nickname

  1. When you’re prohibited from using nixos
  2. When there’s no package for it in nixos, and you’re lazy to package it yourself

The lawful fear us. The smart support us. The high bandwidth join us.

We are a squad. We are Torrentimous.

I will get downvoted for that

  1. Get the cheapest id card from tor
  2. Go to the area of that id card
  3. Get the library card
  4. Repeat

External email server vs port forwarding/vpn
Hey-ho 👋 What is the best approach for selfhosting an email server with static IP or blocked port 25? I've done it many times in many different ways, now doing it again and want to hear what is the best approach these days My port 25 isn't even probably blocked, I just prefer to use my vps to help it with this stuff Any suggestions?

Private and/or cheap places to register a domain
You have 5 seconds to answer 😃 I'm currently using namecheap to buy cheap domains, I know they are not necessarily cheap in long term, but first year + coupons make them almost free But now I've got some domains I don't want to just use one year, and it gives pretty much a lot of issues with pricing and privacy So please, people, share services you use, and tell me whether they are private and/or cheap and/or have all those countless generic domains and not just .com .org .net

Pirating WordPress plugins
Ahoy fellow sea wolves and cannons lovers I often make websites on WordPress (ecommerce, very packed websites) And I have no money or intention to buy or pay for anything But there are those plugins I want to use I saw some websites that offer nulled plugins, but it seems they are injected with some bad stuff Is there a way to clean them Or maybe some other way to get the plugins?

Grocy: how to add bottles of oil?
Hi, I couldn't find a dedicated community for grocy I'm very new to it, I figured out about most of the stuff, but this really makes me really confused I have bottles of oil, like olive, sunflower, you know, and.. How do I add them? I know it's the same story with any weight product, I just started from liquids I already have parent products, I want to buy the oil in bottles, and quick use in ml, open in bottles, and maybe display total in liters, or in ml Actually, doesn't matter about total, i'm stuck everywhere else, thank you 🫡
