Does this support other targets like twitch VODs?

Mattermost does not have E2EE to my knowledge.

XMPP only does it with certain client extensions. And Matrix only does it when the rooms are set up this way. SimpleX does what you want, but is kind of unintuitive for the average user.
I say go with Signal, it does what you want and is idiot-proof.

Consumer CPUs were lacking ECC reporting, so you never really knew if ECC was correcting errors or not.

Shit, this kinda screws with my plans to use the A380 as a transcoding card for my server.

You’re right, I forgot about the on-the-fly transcoding abilities of Jellyfin for a moment. But still, the server should be able to handle whatever codec they choose in hardware.

Keep in mind at least your server should be able to decode whatever you choose in hardware, so AV1 might still not be a good idea depending on your current hardware and upgrade plans.

With current hardware support I would advise against using AV1 or even H.265.

I’d recommend to experiment with H.264 and low CRF values to see what quality loss and file size OP is comfortable with: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/H.264

Yes, the only real drawback is the single channel memory connection, but that’s rarely a bottleneck.

I’d recommend to go with some form of mini PC. If you don’t need much CPU power there are some very cheap N100 ones where you can upgrade the RAM.

If you need E2EE there’s only Matrix. I wish it wasn’t the only option, but it is. For setting up rooms and so on you can use their Spaces feature, I think.

I’ve been looking for an alternative, too: https://feddit.de/post/8502516

From the ones you mentioned only Matrix supports full E2EE.

Something like Immich or PhotoPrism is probably the way to go.

I’ve heard that the size difference between 720p and 1080p for HEVC/h.265 is neglectable, so you should probably stick to 1080p for better quality.

But honestly I think what you want to do is neither worth the effort nor is the result very desirable.

Keep in mind you won’t have proper DRM support if you go the SBC route.

How much effort have you actually put into trouble shooting the issue? Maybe it is just a wrongly set CPU governor (performance, instead of ondemand or something else)? Or a certain kernel flag that have to be set on boot?

I just wish NewPipe would open piped.video links automatically.

Hm, you could set up a virtual machine on whatever host OS and have Unraid run in that instead.

Honestly, when Unraid is the culprit, why not change that instead?

What is the current state of the art of upscaling DVD-only releases?
I know this technically doesn't really qualify as !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com, but I figured if anybody on Lemmy would know, it's you guys. I have some old DVDs that never got a proper Blu-ray release. With all the fuzz about and the recent advancements in AI, **what is the definitive best way to upscale to 1080p in 2023?**

Are there clean versions of Ableton Live available somewhere?
I'm looking for a clean version of Ableton Live (ideally 11, but anything older is fine too) for weeks now. But everything I download and send to VirusTotal.com is infected with all kinds of nasty malware. Am I doing something wrong? Where does one get cracked audio software (for Windows) without malware?

I found this guide for downloading Wii U games, but it relies on a Windows-only tool. Is there a Linux alternative?
So, this is the guide: https://gist.github.com/Irastris/31766414a981a056d49c1242a019829a It talks about [FunKiiU](https://github.com/llakssz/FunKiiU) (which works fine on Linux) and [cdecrypt](https://github.com/VitaSmith/cdecrypt) (which is Windows-only). Are there alternatives to *cdecrypt* which run on Linux?
