You do know the government doesn’t only have $2B to spend, right? They can invest in multiple things. And this notably is infrastructure. That word doesn’t just apply to transportation.

The libertarians must be back from Sunday brunch already.

This is the sort of thing I want my tax dollars going to. It’s investing in Canada’s economic future, which is one of the things our taxes should be going to. But, no, “tAxAtiOn iS thEft.”

Thriving where, and at what cost? The money is to promote Canada as a centre for AI development and adoption so that Canadians can reap the economic benefits, and also to devise and implement safety measures against AI-based deception. Neither are a waste of money if you give the topic more than a half-second of thought.

Reads like a waste of a comment.

Anyone who isn’t actively thinking about AI’s impact on the world in the near future will be glad to know the internet really was just a fad, streaming will never catch on and Dewey really did defeat Truman.

If we need 100 million people to sustain the economy, we need a different economic system. We have over 40 million people now and I can only stand to be around about six of you.

Oh, so there already is a requirement. I guess my GP was just a bad doctor.

I still can’t believe Rogers was allowed to buy Shaw.

As someone with a chronic condition, I have had issues with doctors who were trained in other countries before emmigrating. I had one GP who tried to fail my driver’s medical and withhold my license by directly contradicting my specialist, who is also on the board that defines the standard the GP was using to deny my license. There must have been other complaints as well because her practice didn’t last long.

Not to say they shouldn’t be allowed to practice here, but they should need to at least take some kind of course to make sure they know and follow Canadian standards.

I have heard that Tim Hortons changed its supplier and their old one is now the supplier for McDonalds coffee. I have no idea if this is true, but I’ll spread it on the internet anyway.

I’ve been having dreams lately where I’m driving around in my old 1987 thunderbird that I got in 2003 when I was in high school. It wasn’t a great car and I was hoping my next vehicle could be electric, but maybe that’s a sign I need to be going backwards.
