That literally tells the story of a people’s losing their livelihood due to capitalist usage of technology, and targeting the technology instead of the systemic issue.

If capitalism is shit you attack capitalism not a technology.

All the misplaced rage and wasted effort.

Good thing about this is it’s self selecting, all the luddites who refuse to use AI will find themselves at a disadvantage just the same as refusing to use a computer isn’t doing anyone any favours.

Any multimodal llm could do this in a heart beat locally.

And OpenAI has made their shit freely available to run locally, it’s like the worst company to use as an example.

You’re showing up on my personal instance as well, so I’d say you’re all good on the Lemmy syncing.

Not sure why you’re not syncing on Mastodon, it might just be a time thing? Maybe check back in a day or so?

Mozilla makes hundreds of millions from Google. Every single person could stop donating and they would continue along just fine (Well the CEO might need to take a 10 million yearly pay cut).

What weird is seeing people champion the enshittificstion of FOSS software.

No, I want to automatically cache pages I’ve searched for and visited and have them show up on my searx.

We’re talking like maybe 10 pages a week if that.

I know there’s ArchiveBox, but I’m after something less manual and more integrated.

Is there any sort of way to self host a limited version of this? L

I’d love to be able to have my own Searx also cache everything I visit as I go to it, it’d at least let me refind information I’ve previously found.

I’ve been getting the same.

Some times it’s fine, other times it can take like 8 hours to “update”.

Someone told me a while ago to restart it every few days, it seems to help a bit.

That’s crazy, I’ve never seen anyone use them here in Australia.

I think because every business has its own little proprietary windows app they need to use for this or that.

Does anyone outside of some schools buy chromebooks?

But the base model M3 MBP is almost an entirely different product to the rest of the MBP lineup.

They really should’ve removed the pro moniker from that sku.

Average users aren’t going to be installing an OS.

Didn’t memory get heaps expensive for a while there?

Just to run the OS sure, but what about the ever enlarging bloated software?

Why not outsource the power usage and hardware costs to the consumer and just reap the end result?

Yes I know, I found that part more interesting than the murderers story.

Woah so that’s the creator of 8Chan. Damn that guy has created a lot of harm in the world. Kinda more interesting than the murderer story.

But that does nothing unless they tell us they’re doing that.

If I just see the service getting slow, I’m not going to “Oh this is because of my adblocker, better turn it off to go fast” I’m going to think “Fuck YT is turning to shit, it cant even load a page. I’ll go watch Twitch or something”

They were outright blocking it not long ago, so if they could still figure out who is doing it they’d probably just block them entirely again, right?

Children learn by watching others. We are trained from millions of examples starting from before birth.

What?

Minimum system requirements for installing Windows 11 on a PC mean users must have a processor of at least 1 GHz or faster along with a minimum of 4GB RAM. Storage requirements are also set to a minimum of 64G

Like you can’t exactly blame MS for people still using old arse components.

Likewise if people wanted they could keep using windows 10 or switch to a Linux distro to keep the machines running.

You can already run a llm natively on Android devices.

Pretty cool tech demo.

The commonality of ducks was a pretty poor information sharing however.

Wonder how well this performs in a real world setting, and being Google how long until they cancel this too.

During our interview, Altman repeatedly declined to answer the main question on everyone’s’ minds: exactly why he was fired to begin with.

He doesn’t explain shit.

I asked for a Sailor Moon ‘be gay, do crime’ meme and got this

ChatGPT was just able to parse a list of fictional characters out of concepts, nouns, and historical figures.

It wasn’t perfect, but if it can take the prompt and check if any mention of a fictional or even defined historical character is in there it could be made to not apply additional tags to the prompt.

Fucks sake. Criticism of China is not sinophobic.

Are we just copying the Israel playbook now?

Coles and Woolies set their prices as high as they know they can sell them for to maximise profits.

If they didn’t have to pay loss costs, they would pocket the difference instead of altruistically passing the savings onto the consumer.

So for a beginners guide, your complaint with their suggestion is that it’s something non-beginners already know and as such shouldn’t be informed to beginners?

I haven’t set up my home server yet although this sub has inspired me, I’m exactly the target market for this post and I find this suggestion informative.

No it’s not?

Many websites are only ever tested to work on Chrome because companies don’t care about catering to the smaller userbases of the other browsers.

If the law is refusing to go after these people, why hope for imprisonment?

Remember last time it took workers taking bosses hostage or worse to get results.
