Windows is not a benchmark. Windows has its exclusive non-gaming uses over Linux, and so Windows cannot be shit. What can be shit though is lack of being able to do a task (Linux/MacOS), or the bloatware and spyware (Windows/MacOS), or horrible performance (KDE), or garbage UX/UI (primitive DEs/WMs).
Massgrave or the good ol’ Windows 10 AME Project ISO on archive.org (using since over a year with simplewall and occasional Kaspersky’s KVRT scans).
I have seen an exception - old installer Windows games. For example, yesterday I was installing NFS High Stakes and it was complicated, needing to mount ISO (nocd needs external installer patch that only works with mounting), installing it, running it once and then copying files over to run on Linux. Observed the same even with Razor’s repack combo of NFS Hot Pursuit I and II, which needed running game once on Windows for configuration then successful runs on Linux.
This leads me to the conclusion that either doing this is a good way, or anyway just have Windows 10 by the side on a SSD to ensure no compatibility problems. You can keep running Windows offline even after EOL if you scan files properly, since you will give no internet to it.
Wait till you meet the real evil…
WEBP images. The worst image file format on earth to deal with metadata and timestamps. FFFFUUUUUCK WEBPOOP (and no AVIF please).
XNViewMP is a saviour on all OSes though, thankfully, being the only tool that can batch convert webpoops to any proper image format with preserved metadata.
Atleast with renamed ZIP files, I literally do not need to care as long as 7-Zip or PeaZip is installed, so I can just “open as * archive”. And for video/audio, have MediaInfo installed on any OS. You will thank me someday.
That is DIN font, condensed and probably boldened. DIN is royalty free and one of the clearest fonts you could use on any font size. I love it, and I am not a fan of many fonts. Recommend you check Go and Etoile font families too, royalty free.
