Suggest some good way to watch live motorsports.
Lately F1 and MotoGP have been making it very difficult to watch live races. Can you guys suggest some ways that give stable and good quality streams ? Hopefully the method will work on android as well as PC. I use F1box mostly for F1 and liveTV for MotoGP.

Sync files and Joplin notes on local network as well as mobile data
Tldr : Need to sync files on my phone and laptop via some remote repository. So I'm currently using Syncthing to sync my backup files and Joplin notes on my phone and my laptop. I'm not home 3 days a week, so whatever notes I take or changes I make, won't be reflected on my laptop until I come home. I tried next cloud (free tier) sync for Joplin before, but the server has issues from time to time and but the sync part doesn't work properly. Is there a way for me to use Syncthing or something else using some free or very cheap service and hopefully secure, in such a way that my phone , my laptop and the 3rd service all can be in sync. Also I'm kind of a noob when it comes to all these self hosting stuff, but I can learn some stuff not too complicated though. Edit : My laptop is not ON during the 3 days I'm out of my house. Ideally once I power it on after a few days it should sync to the latest version.

It’s a Tachiyomi extension repo, not a Mihon one right? Or is my understanding wrong?

Use a python script. Use the subprocess function to run the ffmpeg command.

I agree with you. With GPU encoding the options to tweak are less and the quality drop is noticeable if the source ain’t that great. But if you try to encode a full movie on a weak CPU it’s going to take ages.

Or use A FFMPEG script to sort all the x264 videos and keep it in a separate folder and use handbrake with GPU and mass convert all the videos in that particular folder. AV1 is also good but as some other user said, your hardware needs to support it.

Kind of. But this is encoded using CPU and will be time consuming. Search for FFMPEG GPU acceleration. The installation (building) will take some time but the time saved during mass conversion of videos will be worth it. I believe FFMPEG supports RCOM on Amd and Cuda on Nvidia . So any gpu should be fine.

Maybe a script using ffmpeg can be made. For further time saving, do it using ffmpeg hardware acceleration using gpu.

Learning docker is always a big plus. It’s not hard. If you are comfortable with cli commands, then it should be a breeze. Even if you are not comfortable, you should get used to it very fast.

I’m not an expert, but maybe you can use a 4K video capture card, then encode it to AV1 using GPU acceleration preferably. It’s a bit of a hassle, but it might work.

Yes, I’m also planning to join there soon. I’m imagining Google to make maps a subscription service in a few years.

I never used to donate to any FOSS project, now I donate every alternative month since I realized what I liked about the internet and tech is being taken away by greedy corporates.

I have thought of it, but like you said, it’s an extra step. I’m not a bot btw, so I post all these posts whenever I find some time. That being said, I don’t mind if anybody else can post the description in the comments.

I really don’t get why some people always want something recommended to them. Whatever happened to finding out things that you like?

Check out new songs from youtube, spotify, music sites and later download them and store them locally as 256 or 320 kbps mp3 files. I used to be a fan of billboard Top 100, but nowadays it’s just crap. Occasionally I do purchase from the artist’s site if available just to support them.

I just tried it out on both Firefox and DuckDuckGo on my phone…its working with absolutely no issues

Pssst…sorry to rain on your parade but this is mkdev’s last and final crack.
