Apple products are generally the worst way to attempt to do anything with a computer. Drop the idea.

Exactly. Doing your own research gets you nowhere if the only websites you know are 8chan and the like.

Is that a problem? I’m not saying that we all wouldn’t like lower bills, but is comparing your internet bill to your insurance premium a pragmatic way to approach finance? Also, how much are you giving your ISP every month? You can get a gigabit fibre connection for $100 or less.

Bruh, why are you on literally every thread telling people there’s no value in going to the cashier? What skin in this game do you have? Are you a grocery store franchisee?

Why do you want to do that when someone else is getting paid to do it?

I don’t have to do the thing myself. They’re doing it for me. Unless I’m misunderstanding your question.

That doesn’t make sense. I’m not giving the business my time by using the cashier. I may be wasting my time, but it’s not part of the transaction. The business isn’t receiving a ledger with “Time from Customer” on one side and “Time Banked” on the other side. And yes, labour has value. What are you smoking, “work has no value”. You mustn’t be in a union.

r/onguardforthee isn’t the copycat type of sub I mean. r/canada_sub i’m pretty sure is almost entirely populated by ragebaiting bots because no one ever actually replies to comments. There’s like several different r/canada_housing subs now? Truly a clusterfuck over on reddit these days.

A lot of people recommend Plex, which I’m sure is great, but if you want an actual Netflix GUI, Titan Bingie Mod for Kodi is the way to go. From what I understand about Plex, Titan Bingie on Kodi provides all of the same features.

It’s astounding how when the API fiasco happened, it seems that most Reddit users who migrated to Lemmy were predominantly Leftist, leaving a bunch of copycat subs behind that are almost exclusively alt-right shitholes. The difference in discourse over PP is night and day.

Maybe the problem is the food waste to begin with. Maybe we don’t need to buy a month’s worth of anything at once.

You don’t have to do any of those things. You’re just used to consumer creature comforts. Also, I’m calling bs on people you know using grocery store plastic bags as garbage bags. They always have holes in the bottom so you can’t do this.

Half of all fast food restaurants are still using plastic straws. So even the “super easy barely an inconvenience” part of Canada’s climate change strategy isn’t even being enforced.

Okay, sure, but we’re talking about inches. 8x8 isn’t a large footprint. Don’t be obtuse. Also 4x4 is 1/4 the footprint of 8x8.

They’re not a lot bigger than a NUC. My HP mini PC’s footprint is like 8"x8"

Pretending like capitalism is this new concept that needs to be fully explored and debated before we understand that it’s bad is a pretty bad faith framing of the issue. Infinite economic growth is literally impossible because Earth has finite resources and there is a finite number of humans. There is no necessity or imperative behind infinite economic growth other than to make the ruling class richer at everyone else’s expense.

Relatively cheap? Huh? At $500-$1000 they were exactly the opposite of a relatively cheap desktop machine.
