My 16GB XPS running Linux almost fills up entirely when running several docker containers, IDEA, Firefox, Teams, Postman and a few other, smaller apps, but it fits still, and I can work with it (tho I can’t wait to get my 32GB framework laptop)

Now gimme a 8GB MBP and I’ll show you that I wouldn’t get shit done on that configuration. And at 1600 it’s just crazy.

My hopes for RISC V are higher than I like to admit.

I really hope it goes mainstream and gives us ARM benefits with the open nature awesomeness

Thanks!

Yeah I forgot to mention that I’m already living the self hosted life, I got a small home server with the arr suite, jellyfin and a few other containers.

Didn’t know about syncthing, I’ll definitely check it out. Same for GoneMad 👍🏻

Thanks again!

In both the Western countries I’ve lived so far (France and Italy, but my guess is the list is much longer), this wouldn’t be possible.

The landlord could at most adjust the rent to inflation.

The only wag he/she could ask for such a steep increase is by making a brand new contract with someone else, but for that purpose the current contract should be terminated, which isn’t possible if your occupants are paying their rent, unless he/she wants to re-take possession for selling the apartment/house or to live in it. If they fake the repossession and actually end up renting again to an inflated price, the new contract is deemed void and the previous occupants could be reinstated.

Doesn’t solve the offline mode/taking a 13 hour flight use case, unfortunately.

Could someone kindly ELI5 how to lidarr-ize my liked tracks from Spotify, please?

My collection there is quite static and I think I’m a good candidate to go MP3/AAC/whatever 🏴‍☠️ plus Spotify free just to keep up to date with newly released singles/albums from time to time.

Thanks!

P.S. also what comes after would be great, i.e. how I can batch transfer all those files from my home server running lidarr to my Android phone/PC and keep them in sync after the initial transfer. Plus also a nice feature rich Android app, either free (no ads) or even better open source with an accessible price.

Checkpoint: have you unsubbed? Unsub LTT now.

There’s plenty of good, honest content out there.

Seconding this request.

Possibly screenshots to avoid paying them a visit, but, eh, a link would do, too.

Thanks

It’s not a small detail and it’s not pointless to point it out.

When you messed up so big, you wanna make sure your “we got this, folks” video is impeccable.

Same, I unsubbed back then.

(Thanks Louis Rossmann for existing, BTW).

Recent events only confirmed that my choice was right.

I unsubbed from MKBHD as well a while ago, I’m not at ease with YouTubers becoming corporations (or getting close to).

Let’s just appreciate the fact that basically no other browser has this.

With chrome/ium you can’t even block ads.

Please, make sure to ALWAYS include line numbers.

Makes discussion much easier

Invest in a solid charger (30-40€ will do). You’ll keep it for years, it’ll charge an odd number of batteries as well (unlike some cheap ones that only charge in pairs) and it charges just the right amount, then stops. Some even have battery test/discharge function, and charge more than just AA/AAA.

Then invest in a bunch of rechargeables, possibly Eneloops or something good from Amazon.

Now profit for years to come. The planet will thank you as well.

Honestly single use consumer batteries should be banned.

I have a git repo for it, needless to say. And so README.md plus a network diagram from https://app.diagrams.net/

I have preordered a framework laptop which will run Linux until it fucking blows up or falls apart.

Enough with being screwed over by well known brands whose interest is just selling you more and more stuff.

Personally, I’m more of an <insert flavor here> kinda guy, but to each their own, I guess.
