I feel it really depends on the country you work with. Back in Sweden it was such a sausage fest. But since I started working with people from Russia, Ukraine and especially China it changed significantly. OK top management is still full of dudes, but middle management and the people who do the implementation is a good mix. About 40℅ women even in positions of power. Korea seems to be somewhere in the middle.


But there are still if, while, function definitions, etc. in scripting languages. It doesn’t seem to me that different than even programming in assembler. In Assembler you also call subroutines, etc. and in every other language you also call functions from libraries.


Is scripting programming?



I remember not long ago Nintendo attacked the emulators and won, they didn’t attack reddit. So yeah, you might be not OK offering this emulator.


I don’t get it because my phyton code is indented exactly the same as all my other code. Each block of code one tab in/out, how else would you do it?



Ah interesting, that just shows that I have successfully avoided subscribing to those. The few ones with ads I listen to get the ads read by the hosts like in YouTube videos.



I really want podcast apps to hook into SponsorBlock.

Right now I’m listening to very few English podcasts because of all the advertisement. I switched to German and Swedish because most of them don’t have any advertisement in them.


As long as people pirate there is still hope to get them back with a good service and price.

I on the other hand am a lost customer I just stopped consuming most of media. I rather spent an hour on the Threadyverse than watching a fight, a game or even a TV series.


My Chinese partner says that those are probably Chinese Millionairs, they just want out and go wherever they can get a Visa to. And there are many of them.



I would go with syncthing, it uses far fewer resources, is rock solid and out of your way.
