the best thing to do is download and torrent to preserve humanity’s wealth in knowledge otherwise we risk losing immeasurable treasures to the sands of time
Personal recommendation:
qBittorrent
uh huh
so why would Canadian’s informing themselves on the happenings of our neighbors be unhealthy?🤔🤔🤔🤔
He added that it’s come at the expense of Canadians consuming news about their own country’s politics.
that’s not how that works, just cause I inform myself on what’s happening in the US cause I also have friends there doesn’t mean I’m less informed on what’s happening over here, in fact:
I’d say it’s the opposite as I’m more concerned and informed about the pros that’s US citizens are gaining such as Right to Repair and the cons of the degradation of citizen rights that are being replicated here
Consuming anything from Fox news is def bad as you’re not even consuming junk food at that point but rage bait poison
not sure about the majority of the software but I’d recommend FreeCad as an alt to Solidworks
oh for sure
I vote based on what a party has previously done cause we all know that promises at this point are equivalent to PR hype right?
Voting NDP seems better
the CFP is portraying themselves as centrist but their policies and strategy is right learning
alrighty then🥱
Edit:
ok after rereading I actually like one of their policy “planks”:
increasing competition in the airline, telecommunications and agricultural sectors.
haven’t watched the video yet
I’m curious if they’ve pulled off their magic again
Edit:
Intel what the hell
If Intel gets sued to extinction, anyone who’s purchased an Intel 13/14th gen might become screwed without recourse when it comes to CPU support/remediation, as such:
Intel’s egregious predatory manipulative actions has harmed everyone as the hardware ecosystem is such a vital and integrated part of modern society.
Intel, instead of “chopping wood”, perhaps you might want to focus on getting a haircut, your old bangs clearly show split hairs.
If anyone has any recourse/accountability suggestions for Intel owners in other regions/countries please comment below
I’m going to try and figure out if there’s anything similar to the FTC for Canadians
She insisted that she cares about survivors’ stories, and outlined some of the actions the federal government has taken to address violence against women.
But rather than pivoting back to the topic of violence against women after airing that complaint, Vandenbeld called for a debate on a motion related to abortion rights – an issue the Liberals have tried to pin the Conservatives down on for months.
playing the same tactics as the conservatives is not the answer to solving anything.
Ignoring the domestic violence survivors and witnesses by playing politics is a disgrace to all Canadians
Anita Vandenbeld should consider stepping down
that is true but for beginners with a $1000 budget who ask about buying laptops to host services
one thing I forgot to mention is that it also heavily depends on an individual’s use cases, restrictions, and preferences
that is definitely true however the added benefit is typically a longer warranty range as buying a laptop would typically mean that all components would be sold under a single flat warranty cycle/deadline
plus even if your computer is borked, you can still take it into a microcenter, memoryexpress, brick-and-mortor retailer to have their technicians figure it out the problem for a cost
I often have these time vs cost tradeoff discussions with my customers after they’ve been informed on the basics
hmm after rereading the initial comment I mean it’s not impossible but I’d posit that it’s highly unlikely as the majority of us have already experienced the dynamics where doing so would drive our users away to another instance like the initial reddit implosion
I’d assume a sponsored post on a Lemmy community would just be a pinned post that a mod got money for
and yes that’d probably be it
with a $1000 budget they might want to consider building a computer as desktops usually provide better performance/per cost rather than buying a $1000 laptop
building is incredibly easy as there’s a plethora of tutorial vids online and you’re less likely to get screwed over by an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or retailer
the fediverse here also has an active community for support !buildapc@lemmy.world
depends on your return window,
if you have a chance to refund both your CPU and mobo I’d personally recommend taking it and waiting to see what Intel does if you want to buy Intel’s future processors, you’d also get the option to take a look at AMD’s lineup as well
if you’re outside the return window for both it might still be worth refunding the CPU and seeing if you’d be able to swap the mobo with an AMD equivalent by contacting your board maker [Asus, MSI, Asrock, Gigabyte, NZXT, etc), if they say no then you still have the option to sell as a new board as it sounds like you were on the cusp of the build phase
I recently learned that Strawberry has native built-in streaming capabilities

not sure if this is what you’re looking for but it’s an option that might be useful for you🤗
