Need advice on learning programming or something related to that.
Hi! Don't know if this is the place to ask this but, basically what the title says. *TL;DR: Where do I start if I want to learn programming and potentially end in cybersecurity? Would computer science be a good decision? Should I learn any specific coding language?* I am a designer but I want to expand my knowledge and learn other things, programming is something that I've always kind of struggled with but I'm starting to like it nowadays. I am currently switching my way over to Linux from W11, I've been distro hopping and trying Ubuntu, Fedora (the one I like the most as of yet) and now I will try EndevourOS (I still am not prepared to try pure Arch imho). All this playing around on Linux made me interested in coding, using the terminal, solving problems, analyzing logs, etc. My main question is: where do I start? I'm not asking what "the best language is" or "which gives you the most jobs", it's more like I need advice on where to start with the things I want to do. While using Linux, I've been copy-pasting repos, codes, commands, etc., but I sometimes want to know what do those even mean or what the hell I am even doing, I don't want to be a copy-pasting machine without understanding what it means. I think my objective is to end up doing Cybersecurity because, for me, it's one of the most interesting topics. I've read that it's better to start with Computer Science and then I can go with Cybersecurity or if I change, I could go with Soft. Eng., etc I don't want to just make websites or apps, and I think I don't want to do IT (the kind of IT where you just help other people fix their computers), I do struggle with mathematics but if it's something I need to do to learn these things then I'll do it. I also would like to learn how to use/build servers. Just want to make it clear though, I will be doing everything myself, as I don't have any money to go to a college/university, so if anyone has free resources, I would highly appreciate it. Thanks in advance to everyone who read this and is able to help/give advice!

I joined the waitlist months ago and all I heat is Bluesky is growing but I still have no news about being able to use it…

Option 1: Firefox (or any firefox variant like Floorp, Waterfox or LibreWolf) + uBlock Origins, if that doesn’t work -

Option 2: avoid the sites, don’t give them traffic, and -

Option 3: if you really need to read that article, use 12ft ladder and it will probably work.

They can obviously track pirated installs.

They use computational predictions and quantum mathematical calculations through a software called trust me bro.

This is only for 40 series cards, right? Or does it work besides the frame generation? I have the one with the DLSS 2, does it even make a difference without the frame generation?

I think this is better tbh, I personally don’t like it when piracy forums/sites/whatever piracy related thing goes too mainstream. Maybe it’s gatekeeping, I don’t know, I just don’t want another Z-Library incident.

Either way, they probably aren’t even against piracy, they’re probably just lazy and don’t want to deal with any of the issues they could potentially face down the line.

Edit - grammar

Yep, every driver is up to date. In fact I just did a fresh windows install once again, updated all drivers once again, and the problem still persists.

The games however are stored in a secondary ssd, so the next thing I’m gonna do is install them on the main, and some of them on an external one, just in case it’s a faulty SSD.

If that’s not it then I have no clue.

Yeah I’m about to give up with these games as well and just not play them, I just finished a clean Windows install again and it still didn’t work, I feel like I’m going insane here haha

I’ll definitely try that tomorrow when I wake up, I just did a fresh install of Windows 11 and it still won’t work, thanks for that recommendation, I have an external ssd so maybe it’ll work like that.

Definitely something wrong with my OS and I’m currently making yet another clean install, because the weird thing is that I’ve played all these games before (except BG3) on the same laptop, I was just replaying them for fun.

I just wanted to see if there was someone else with the same issues or something similar.

Specs are fine

AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3050Ti, and 32GB RAM, it’s a Legion 5 (2021)

All games mentioned run 100fps+ on High and I was watching the graphs, temperatures of 60-80C on the CPU and 50-75C on the GPU so those were fine (at least for a laptop)

What you’re saying makes a lot of sense, but, the weird thing is that, except for Baldur’s Gate 3, I already played all these games in my laptop before. I was just replaying them for fun, I just didn’t know if somebody else had the same issues.

I think I’ll just make another clean install and see what happens, this situation has me so confused tbh haha

Games crashing after the prologue?
**EDIT - After trying everything there is, I decided to make a new clean Windows Installation and everything worked again. So the problem was a bad Windows installation. However, I don't know why every single game stopped working specifically after the prologue and not before or after, but it's fixed now**. Has anybody had problems with games *specifically* crashing after the prologue? It doesn't even throw any errors or anything. I can play the game and even leave the game open **for hours ** without issues, or even start the game again and replay the prologue, but after that, all games crash. These are all the games where that has happened: Dying Light 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Resident Evil 2 & 4 Remake, Atlas Fallen, Fallout 4, DMC HD Collection, 4 SE and 5, etc. The only games where it has not happened are Mini Metro, Mini Motorways, and Universe Sandbox (none of those have prologues) Some downloaded from FG, some from SteamRip, Empress, El Amigos, sometimes I even download different versions of the same game and end up with the same result. The only "weird" thing I did before all this happened was doing a clean Windows Install. And the only weird thing I've noticed is that Steam has been really slow, but still, all the games are pirated so Steam shouldn't have anything to do.

I use Internet Download Manager and it has worked like a charm for me. It’s paid, but you can find the pirated version easily!

I tried JDownloader but it didn’t work for me, I’m kind of dumb though so it might have been my fault that it didn’t work in my browser/computer.

Edit: wanted to add that for torrents I’ve been using Qbittorrent, imo it’s the best

You can find it on Rutracker, that’s shere I got it from, it’s not the latest latest, but I have the v2.0.0

After reading this post I was looking on rutracker to see if they uploaded a newer version, but the website seems to be down for me at the moment.
