You’re not going to find an antivirus that isn’t intrusive because that is their entire duty. However, Kaspersky has a very high malware detection rate compared to other AV solutions

I like the Ultrachrome CSS mod. It doesn’t massively change the interface - but it looks a bit nicer imo

I mean linux is a better bet. Less bloat so it’ll run better.

Otherwise, you can install windows 10 LTSC, use massgravel’s activation scripts and use some anti-spyware tools such as windows spy blocker for the peak windows experience.

It’s ironic that when a dev says its ok to pirate their game, I feel a greater urge to purchase it legitimately. Maybe it’s because you have to be a certain level of cool to say that.

Youtube and spotify do not offer lossless codecs. I prefer using tools like qbdlx and deemix but not all music can be found on said services. That is where torrents come in.

I was a lurker on Lemmy before the api scandal and tbh it was completely dead. What arose from the scandal was not Reddits downfall, as many of us mightve hoped for at the time, but rather an equally glorious revival of Lemmy.

Game piracy is currently in a precarious position, given how difficult it’s become to crack denuvo. Games without denuvo still release very often, but especially in the AAA space, piracy is definitely slowing down

I read reviews from some music review websites. I also get recommendations from friends. Occasionally, I might go shopping for new music on youtube

I can personally vouch for Qobuz as they usually have the music I’m looking for. Deezer is also a really popular option. Idk if they have all that drm stuff or not. Ofc YT music exists, but they don’t have lossless audio

I know, it’s just the fact that I use it for pretty much all of my media that I find kinda funny. Goes to show, it’s really an amazing program tho.

UT has been garbage for some time. I reckon the data it uses to send your info back to them and to load ads, bogs down the network, especially on slower networks. The last time I used it, there were also graphical artifacts all over. Qbit on the other hand, is much cleaner and simpler to use, and it doesnt add any unwanted network traffic, which is why it’s probably faster

Living life on the edge currently, but thats because I dont have a means to backup my media at the moment

Depends on what you want. For games, find a trustworthy repacker (fitgirl and dodi are good in my experience) and only download from them. For software, again, it depends. For adobe products, M0nkrus is pretty good, but I’m unsure about other software. Movies and music are typically quite safe as long as you practice due diligence (basically dont open a file called song.mp3.exe).

  • tailscale: mesh vpn
  • jellyfin: media server
  • flame: home page
  • streamrip: easy way to download music to the server
  • cockpit: gui for general management of the server

Not about saving data but I have shitty internet so repacks are a way for me to download stuff without it taking 50 years

It’s easier to install streamrip (beta version) on the server directly. That way, you can download music directly to the server and skip the whole ftp part.

Disable ssao and reduce shadow distance. Also get a potato mod. You might find skyrim legendary edition to be more bearable fyi

This is the most ethical way of doing it. I respect it

This community actually is much more interesting than r/piracy which a lot of the time just felt like piracy for dummies, not to mention the pressures of hosting a piracy community on a corporate platform that wanted to completely disassociate with us

You said there’s no other option, I just listed some options. Also Funkwhale is decentralised, there’s no corporation backing it. Ofc, you can also just download the music you like.

With xManager, the free tier comes quite close to premium. No ads, play whatever music you like. The only issues are lower sound quality & no downloads, which are really non-issues since you can just find other sources to download the music from, at flac quality

Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, Funkwhale, Apple Music, Youtube Music, just to name a few. Spotify has no shortage of competition.

It was developed by ID I believe, bethesda only published the game.

Personally, I feel the same way you do about DRM. If you’ve paid to own it, then it should be owned outright. With this in mind, I would say pirating them wouldn’t lose you any moral ground.

It lacks some of the functions found in plex, most notably the sync feature. That being said, it’s still a very good free alternative to plex. It does run on android tv
