This is a good question. What will the new bar be once the current “old people” are gone?

Maybe the trope would be people who are too busy to fiddle with settings, like a super busy CEO or something.

Tasks.org app because it syncs across Nextcloud or Apple Reminders or Android or Linux, and more.

Not sure how paying for an item online using Zelle is in itself a scam. The scam would only come later if the stranger had requested your bank info, or you reply to a dodgy email, etc, but so far nothing untrustworthy had happened yet? I don’t think that was a good question.

How long before someone makes faux human meat? Would it be outlawed?

flaws in identifying women and people with dark skin highlighted.

Why did I read this as women using makeup to highlight their cheekbones.

Or OnlyOffice which is a near clone of Microsoft Office that can handle docx files without screwing then up.

Very frustrating. Thank you for trying at least. “Policy and procedures in place” is my favorite part and I will have to add this to my lexicon.

If you use Linux most mainstream distros allow you to encrypt your hard drive during OS installation using LUKS. You can also use Gnome Disk Utility to encrypt an external hard drive (using LUKS).

Veracrypt is cross platform but personally I use LUKS since it is integrated into the OS.

Here is a guide explaining more: https://tails.net/doc/encryption_and_privacy/encrypted_volumes/index.en.html

Not during adoptions either. The birth certificate has no mention of biological parents at least in the U.S. It’s more of a legal document than medical document.

https://wefwef.app is the most polished ans iOS-like app I have found. It’s basically an open-source clone of Apollo for iOS.

Absolutely. I’ve since found another one I like even more: https://wefwef.app

The developer himself responded further down the comment and said there are no trackers, and the Aurora store verifies that - it scans the app source and also found zero trackers.

Most likely the trackers the commenter was referring to were from browsing many external websites from within the app itself like when clicking links.

Haha, yes! Sounds about right. Someone could create a puzzle game where you trying to escape a vendor kiosk and it gets progressively more complex as you go on.

I have not looked at that feature yet.

Here is a nice chart comparing Lemmy apps https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/73564

https://wefwef.app is the most polished one I have seen.

I have since discovered https://wefwef.app

It is amazing. Basically an open-source clone of Apollo for reddit.

I feel very lucky and still somewhat skeptical that I was able to get friends and family onboard with Signal. Then I remember (1) most people don’t think twice about installing random apps and (2) most people are best suited for an easy onboarding experience like Signal offers.

These are all great suggestions. Is there an official place different app developers could look for these types of feature requests? That would be nice.

This is kinda funny. During a family vacation as a kid, I went down to the hotel business center to use a computer kiosk but it required payment. I was bored so I was clicking around on the locked screen’s hotel logo and got to their company about page, and a bit more link clicking eventually got me out of the company’s website and to a google search page. I browsed for free for what seemed like an hour and did it again the next day before we went home.

Thanks. I wonder where that other commenter got their info.

Here is the post: https://beehaw.org/comment/449643

I cannot verify if that comment is true or not, or how they found out the information.

I tried to reply and ask, but for some reason my comment will not post! I have tried using the website and several Lemmy apps.

No, I dont think it is unfortunately. Another commenter said it was full of trackers, although I have not verified that. I didn’t realize that when I made the post

Oh wow I haven’t heard of this! Just downloaded it.

That is a very good point. I just found it by accident a few minutes ago and didn’t even realize that.

Do you install the mobile site as a web app to your home screen? Otherwise it gets lost in a million tabs in my browser.

Does anyone else use the android app Connect for Lemmy? It reminds me of Infinity for Reddit. If you use it, do you like it better than Jerboa? I also found another new Lemmy app called Liftoff. fedilink

What! Didn’t realize I could do that. Just followed on mastodon as well.
