I compile the source code: git clone, cd mldonkey, ./configure, make, make install

mldonkey 3.2.1 release from August
That's my favorite p2p program for ed2k/kad and bittorrent since like 2010 Changelog ========= 3.2.1 - 2024/08/19 ------------------ * upgrade autoconf build system files * commit configure to git so that source archive is identical to the tag checkout * disable automatic invocation of autoconf 3.2.0 - 2024/08/17 ------------------ Supported OCaml versions now are from 4.03 up to 4.14, as a consequence local (in-the-tree) build of OCaml is not supported anymore, you must have OCaml installed to build. NB newgui2 build is finicky, see README.md for details (tl;dr system packaged OCaml and lablgtk2 or --enable-batch with OCaml 4.05) * fix duplicated Content-Length header (#82) * Support miniupnpc 2.2.8 (#101, Sergey Fedorov) * upgrade upnp/natpmp libraries versions for in-the-tree build (--enable-force-upnp-natpmp) * fix setting network-specific options from command-line (#34) * fix build with newer (safe-string) OCaml (#98, #99, Luca Carlon) * some internal code and build system cleanup * CryptoPP build fixes (#62, #63, #66, Hin-Tak Leung, Jesús Pérez Rey (Chuso)) * dark theme for the web interface (Luca Carlon)

You still have realvnc lite. It is free, 1 user, 3 machines, less features, but the basics still there.

It’s just Germany, the rest of Europe (EU and non-EU) doesn’t actively care about them unless it’s cp.

It’s still my favorite network (using it from more 20 years ago), but for the latest things I use bittorrent and seed to both networks (bittorrent and ed2k/kad) through mldonkey 24/7.

Well you could run these services in your server (only if you have enough spare bandwidth, ram and cpu) to help the comunity to circumvent censorship in some countries, like Russia or Iran. Here you have more information for tor and i2pd.

Tor relay (guard/middle or bridge/snowflake) and i2p node (i2p, i2p+ or i2pd)

Maybe you could try ed2k/kad (emule/amule/mldonkey), soulseek or dc++ networks. Just drop the files in the sharing folders and seed. My preference is ed2k/kad.

Snowflake and i2pd could work but not in the best conditions.

A tor guard/middle relay or bridge/snowflake and i2pd node.

I recommend you to use ed2k/kad networks. You just have to start the client (emule, aMule or mldonkey) and share the folders. The first time you will need a server.met file, which contains the servers, the ipfilter.dat and also nodes.dat for the kad network.

yeah, but when you want your playlist downloaded for when you are traveling or offline…you could not. Well I prefer to pay 30€ yearly for convenience. Some others pay for a VPN or usenet provider, others like me, for spotify. However for movies and TV shows I never stopped sailing seas.

I was running in the past years 2 guard/middle relays, now I prefer only bridges and snowflake, to help users in a countries with censorship, like Iran or turkmenistan.

Better, because it is free and secure. And at same time you are torrenting, you are helping the network. But a downside, it is the speed and amount of peers you find is less compared to the clearnet. Also it is not the best option to surf the clearnet, tor is better at this.

Yes. It is better to use i2p for bittorrent. Now qbittorrent it is compatible.

Tor is for privacy and to circumvent censorship. What OP is asking is privacy…You could help them running a relay or bridge, it is easy, I have a few running.

I know you are asking for a VPN, but you could give a try i2p for bittorrent it is free and secure. And if you want just DDL, you have Tor.

Algorithm, pragmatism and easy of use. The time I would have to dedicate to it is worth more than what a family Spotify account costs me

If you look on this plex support page, they say you need around 8000 passmark points, if I were you, I will look a cpu which a bare minimum of 10000 passmark points to be fine.

On i2p everyone is a node but not everyone is an outproxy to the clearnet, you have to enable it manually.

For bittorrent and p2p it is better to use i2p, tor only to surf the internet.

Me too, I have running a tor snowflake and i2pd instance on the same server I am seeding.

Thanks for the answers, but my specs are very low (intel atom with 2GB ram), I only wanted to know which countries are using my snowflake tor bridge.

geoip location of the connections
I run different services on my debian server and I would like to know if there any terminal command or something to show the countries and number connections that have established contact
