Tailwind, and the death of web craftsmanship

There's a worrying trend in modern web development, where developers are throwing away decades of carefully wrought systems for a bit of perceived convenience. Tools such as Tailwind CSS seem to be spreading like wildfire, with very few people ever willing to acknowledge the regression they bring to our field. And I'm getting tired of it

Idk, this post is getting a healthy debate over there.

Amusingly, reddit is full of smartest-guys-in-the-room, who are all tripping over themselves to defend tailwind. Very much “LEAVE Brittney Tailwind alone!”

There was a post about plain HTML-and-CSS there that was anti-Tailwind the other day, although I can’t find it now. Seeing both of these posts is why I made my comment. :)
