It is the NiH syndrome attempt to recreate Usenet all over again. One would think the audience is smart enough to read between the lines, but then again, the audience doesn’t understand the difference between the internet and services on the internet, so I suppose I wasn’t smart enough to recognize that I couldn’t be so generous. Not sure where you think email and FTP come into play. Usenet began with UUCP and later NNTP.
