I may have oversold it, to be honest, which is fair given what we’re talking about.
Soak a tampon in water and microwave it for a few seconds. It’ll give off loads of whispy steam for a long time. Then, just pop it behind that lovely roast chicken (cooked yesterday) or warming bowl of macaroni soup (ice cold) to make it look piping hot for the photo shoot.
I remember being in like 4th grade and the teacher showing us a video about the tricks they use in advertising, how they carefully craft cheeseburgers, use spray deodorant on beverage glasses to make them look frosty. The thing that stuck in my mind was fake ice cream. Because ice cream would melt under the lights they actually use a substance similar to cookie dough, like shortening, flour, sugar etc. which is completely edible so you can film actors eating it, and I remember thinking “that doesn’t sound half bad, actually.”

Fun fact: That’s not real milk. It’s just Elmer’s glue, they use it to stage the perfect shot.
Food marketing is fascinating
You ever seen the microwaved tampon trick?
…no?
I may have oversold it, to be honest, which is fair given what we’re talking about.

Dang, I wish they taught that in my school
Right? My school just taught us shit like triangles and iambic pentameter.
It really should go without saying, but please only do this with an unused tampon.
Too late now.
“Oh, that steak looks well done and extra-rare!”
Oh god
