Larion Studios forum stores your passwords in unhashed plaintext. Don’t use a
password there that you’ve used anywhere else.
This thread is frustrating. Everyone seems more interested in nitpicking the specifics of what OP is saying and are ignoring that a forum sends you your password (not an automatically generated one) in an email on registration.
A sad truth and sadly not uncommon.
Some people seem to get a kick out of showing of how much “smarter” they are than the next person, side tracking the whole conversation in the process.
I really don’t get why someone would think that’s called for.
You are not logged in. However you can subscribe from another Fediverse account, for example Lemmy or Mastodon. To do this, paste the following into the search field of your instance: !programming@programming.dev

It’s not “side tracking” when the thing being corrected is literally in the title of the post.
