The actual article is pay walled so I couldn’t read any of it. Boycotts rarely work though unless you can convince everyone who shops there to join, and that will always be difficult with a giant retailer like this because at the end of a long day of work most people are willing to give up their values to not have to drive an hour out of their way to go to the shitty grocery store on the other side of town
Good for them. I don’t care what their suppliers claim or what roblaws claims. They don’t exist to me and that’s all that matters.
Just to be clear, I’m not suggesting that anyone stop boycotting them, I’m just saying that’s probably the reason it hasn’t effected them that much
Because boycotts take time to affect profits, and since this only started less than 2 weeks ago it’s not surprising the company is touting a “win”.
Wait a couple of months and I guarantee you we’ll see Roblaw’s bitching about about how ‘fake news’ is hitting their bottom line … because they would never lie to us about their non price-gouging profits. /s
I feel this way with walmart. Im not boycotting its just an unnacceptable place for me to shop. Literally would have to be my only option for a necessity to do it.
