Vice President Kamala Harris says she urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reach a cease-fire deal soon with Hamas so that dozens of hostages held in Gaza since the Oct. 7 attack can return home.
“What has happened in Gaza over the past nine months is devastating. The images of dead children and desperate, hungry people fleeing for safety, sometimes displaced for the second, third or fourth time,” Harris said. “We cannot look away in the face of these tragedies. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering. And I will not be silent.”

The moment the US stops being one, nobody will take it seriously, tanking the USD. Keep in mind the US has little to offer other than intimidation: fintech is only worth as much as someone wants to use it, IP is worth as much as others respect it. The US have barely any exports that can’t be sourced elsewhere, making US’s IOU money almost worthless without a military backing it with a “like it, or else”.
Procuring weapons deals, is one of US’s topmost priorities. How US citizens decide to distribute the spoils of war among themselves, is an internal matter.

I don’t support war or genocide, the Spanish government I voted for, has already recognized the State of Palestine, has been sending aid to Gaza for a while, and is charging Israel a good dime for its weapon purchases. Anyway, the collapse of the USD is likely to cause many wars all around, until the world settles into a new status. I don’t really like that either.
