I LOVE stealth games.

Such great fun, even if a tad stressful to pull off at times.

Origins was my favorite entry in the series, personally.

I’m still playing Caveblazers. Can’t believe I’ve gotten almost 10 hours out of a game I got for 99 cents, but it’s fun.

LOL at the comments suggesting nothing should be done because this is hard to enforce.

That reasoning is why we don’t have legal abortion, universal health care, a living wage, or term limits.

Some things may be hard to do. It’s no excuse not to try.

Meanwhile the guy who perpetrated the My Lai massacre just died in peace at the ripe old age of 80 and only ever served a year of house arrest.

Awesome.

They are now.

That’s what I don’t get with the Anti-Brave crowd. Brave learns their users don’t like a feature and then they do better. This would, to me, be indicative of the way things should proceed.

Meanwhile Firefox is moving backwards.

By all means, use a browser that doesn’t work as well, but maybe don’t run a circle jerk of trolls whenever someone offers a better-working alternative.

I appreciate the offer.

I ran a dual boot Mint install on my main PC for two months and it was just too buggy. I had to switch back to full Windows, but I know it’s an issue with Nvidia and some distros have been Nvidia compatibility, so when I make the switch again I’m just going to use a different one.

Least favorite - Joycons. They make my hands ache, and I hate that to enjoy my switch I have to have a 3rd-party grip.

Favorite - my Lenovo legion laptop, which has given me for excellent years of service. I’m going to upgrade to a newer model later this year and keep this one, install Linux on it, and make it a Linux-only machine for better privacy in using the Web.

Brave is still Chroium

And yet, it does a better job blocking YouTube ads than Firefox, without any add-ons.

Crypto, Ads

Those features are opt-in.

Yet another reason to use Brave, which has better native ad block than any of the other browsers.

Is it truly open-world? You can just go anywhere?

I’ve been thinking of trying it out.

Paid a buck yesterday for this dinky, simple, but fun roguelike platformer called Caveblazers.

SUPER fun.

Only 99 cents.

Yeah, any time I see a headline like this I think about the Chinese guy who fell from the top of a skyscraper.

It’s a neat thing to see, but unquestionably dumb, in my humble opinion.

Exactly.

It’s just PR, and shitty PR at that, as if we can’t figure out what their raping, looting, genocidal regime is doing.

Israel broadens its evacuation orders after deadly strike on Gaza school-turned-shelter
> DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — The Israeli military ordered more evacuations in southern Gaza early Sunday after a deadly airstrike on a school-turned-shelter in the north killed at least 80 Palestinians, according to local health authorities. Israel said it targeted a militant command post, killing 19 fighters. If you stick someone in a canoe in the middle of the ocean, you've still committed murder when they drown. These so-called evacuation orders don't change the fact that Israel is committing genocide and running an apartheid state, with the help and backing of war criminals in the US government.

A man is seen climbing the Eiffel Tower, prompting an evacuation hours before closing ceremony
> PARIS (AP) — French police have evacuated the area around the Eiffel Tower after a man was seen climbing the Paris landmark hours before the Olympics closing ceremony Sunday. > The shirtless man was seen scaling the 330-meter (1,083-foot) tall tower in the afternoon. It’s unclear where he began his ascent, but he was spotted just above the Olympic rings adorning the second section of the monument, just above the first viewing deck. Kind of a dumb thing to do, but I hope he makes it and I admire his moxie.

This is 100% why it’s good to have a small chunk of your portfolio in crypto. It’s hit all-time-highs four times in the last ten years.

It’s hard to argue that it won’t again after that, but I wouldn’t put any more than 10% of your investment capital into it.

Honest question: What is this in reference to?

I’m a Missourian and curious to know.

I still play the original Castlevania games at least once a year.

I think they’re masterpieces, but there are so many incredible classics. I even recently found a site online where you can play the Commodore 64 Nightmare on Elm St.

Glorious.

UK police deploying 6,000 specially trained officers this week as more far-right disorder expected
Is there a good reason why journalists keep calling this "far-right disorder" instead of what it really is: Fascist Terrorism?

Supreme Court shuts down Missouri’s long shot push to lift Trump’s gag order in hush-money case
> WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday shut down a long-shot push from Missouri to remove a gag order in former President Donald Trump’s hush-money case and delay his sentencing in New York. > The Missouri attorney general went to the high court with the unusual request to sue New York after the justices granted Trump broad immunity from prosecution in a separate case filed in Washington. > The order states that Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito would have allowed Republican Andrew Bailey to file the suit, though not grant his push to quickly lift the gag order and delay sentencing.

And, no doubt, they’ve already run the numbers and figured out that it costs them less to steal the data and pay off fines and lawsuits than it does to actually compensate creators properly.

I really hate the capitalist hellhole I’m stuck in.

Still trying out new games from the ‘Pixels with Porpoise’ pack I bought on Humble Bundle a week ago. (So far my faves are Children of Morta and Towerfall Ascension.) I highly recommend it if you like pixel-art based games and fantasy.

And lots of PinballFX.

FF6, or more recently, Battle Chasers: Nightwar

I like it old school.

I play a lot of Pinball FX and Pinball FX2. The only downer is that they’re huge downloads, even if you only own a few tables.

I LOVED the print version back in the day. It was a quality publication.

This is as stupid an idea as Wendy’s ‘surge pricing’ nonsense.

The Castlevania games have been organized into a couple of collections that are very inexpensive, and I would HIGHLY recommend those. They’re on PC and Switch.

I replay Castlevania 1 and 3 at least once a year.

Understood.

Would you consider cop cities a threat? Or a president who openly and enthusiastically supports child genocide? What about a president who mocked the Defund movement on national television during the SOTU? What about a president who allowed Idaho to get away with criminalizing abortion? Or Georgia making it significantly harder to vote? What about a president who sees a $7 minimum wage in 2/3 of the US states and does nothing to change it?

I’m not arguing in Trump’s favor here. I fully grasp that he’s shitty too.

What I’m saying is if you want real change, it doesn’t make any sense to vote Democrat, especially for one like Kamala Harris, who hasn’t even put her policy proposals on her website.

Haven’t played much this week, really.

I’m getting to the later stages of Jedi: Fallen Order, and bought the ‘Pixels with a Porpoise’ bundle on Humble Bundle, so I’m looking a several weeks of pixelated fantasy fun, I think.

If you like that sort of thing, check it out. EIght really good games for $10: https://www.humblebundle.com/games/pixels-with-porpoise?hmb_source=&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=mosaic_section_1_layout_index_2_layout_type_threes_tile_index_1_c_pixelswithporpoise_bundle

Yet another instance where it matters that 2/3 of the states are controlled by conservatives and it matters a great deal that our do-nothing Democrats at the federal level are content to use their power only to enrich themselves.

Foreign citizens are not allowed to donate to US election campaign

Oh, they can indeed. That money just takes a more circuitous route. You might buy a few thousand of Trump’s books or rent a block of rooms at one of his hotels for a while. That’s a lot of money in his pocket that he can loan his campaign at 20% interest legally, and then funnel right back into his pocket. It’s legal and both sides do it.

Well, for starters I’m not from the US, so it’s not my dime

That explains a lot. It must be even easier to support war and genocide when you’re neither voting nor paying for it.

You may think it’s “on our dime” or whatever

I don’t know why you put this in quotes when it’s literally on our dime, and not only that, we’re watching the impoverishment and neglect of our own people on a historically vulgar scale in service to this war machine and genocide.

But, we’re a warmongering nation. People will always make excuses.

Oddly, this would be scarier to me if I hadn’t lived through a protracted 40-year loss of economic and social liberty on the part of the working class and working poor. It seems to me we have bipartisanship for all the really shitty things.

There hasn’t been a minimum wage increase in almost 20 years, despite the vulgar increase in cost living nationwide. The majority of Americans can no longer afford to see a doctor or get a college degree. We no longer have autonomy over our own bodies, and neither party is doing anything to stop it. They are, however, making hundreds of billions appear out of thin air for other countries’ wars. The cherry on the top of this shit pie is that 99% of voters don’t see support for child genocide or brain damage as disqualifying for the presidency.

Republicans turn back the clock. Democrats make sure no one fixes the damage. It’s the ratchet effect.

The only plus I see here is that circumstances in the US are so bad that it’s forced labor unions to get stronger by necessity.

> WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race for the White House on Sunday, ending his bid for reelection following a disastrous debate with Donald Trump that raised doubts about his fitness for office just four months before the election. > The decision comes after escalating pressure from Biden’s Democratic allies to step aside following the June 27 debate, in which the 81-year-old president trailed off, often gave nonsensical answers and failed to call out the former president’s many falsehoods. Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take on Trump, and encouraged his party to united behind her.
