Alberta Premier Danielle Smith insists she isn’t creating a national unity crisis by publicly opposing her fellow premiers on the issue.

“I think the problem that we saw is that we were getting together as a group of premiers and the prime minister saying, ‘let’s not negotiate this in public,’ and I did my part, saying, ‘let’s focus on the things that we know the Americans care about: national security and border security,’ and everybody else went off freelancing,” Smith told CTV’s Question Period host Vassy Kapelos in an interview airing Sunday.

“The thing they kept returning to was punishing Alberta and punishing energy,” Smith added. “So, I just wanted to make sure that we get back to talking about the things that unite us, rather than divide us.”

Typical right wing grievance baby. Faced with a difficult decision and they fold up and weep every time. Cannot be trusted to do anything but serve self-interest. No sense of country first, just naked tribalism. L’il PP, the pension king and life-long feeder at the public trough is exactly the same: pop remarks without hard plans to achieve an objective. Photo-ops with clownvoy protesters and a greasy, smug, fully rehearsed outrage performance when confronted with his own seditious behaviour. Maybe he’ll visit a field like his chum, Trump, and find our how truly loved he is.
