Not quite. It’s a reference to fig wasps. They pollinate certain types of figs but can get stuck inside of/digested by the fruit as it forms in the process. On the diagram, the wasps incorrectly assumed something was a date (fruit) and landed on it presuming safety, but it was actually a fig so now are in the process of dying as they’re slowly eaten by the fruit, hence “the dying gasps of wasps”. It’s a super obscure reference.
