I guess one of the good things with Threads is it raises awareness of these other platforms for people to potentially check out

It’s good to see the fediverse getting mentioned by a mainstream news org but it is a little annoying it’s through the context of threads, haha. It is what it is, I suppose.

I think Threads and the Anti-Meta Fedipact can coexist within the space of the Fediverae. While some existing Lemmy and Mastodon users might flock to Threads or Meta-compatible server, others will go the other way around, from Threads or just interest in Threads to an anti-Meta server.

I think it’s great that I don’t have to explain Lemmy to the normies. It’s like a less corporatey Threads. Oh, OK, cool. Done.

The comments on that site are something else. I don’t know what I expected, but it doesn’t seem like many actually read the article
